@AnfieldEdition@davidlynchlfc@AnfieldIndex I have no idea for this mid table mindset from some of our fans. Nunez is not good enough for Liverpool football club.
There’s a reason why he’s been released in Saudi league. Just move on.
I think Liverpool must take the risk of appointing Andoni Iraola.

Liverpool is doing what Manchester United should’ve done with Erik Ten Hag.
Regardless of winning a trophy in your first season, you can’t ride on that when there’s a glaring issues with the team for a foreseeable future.
Good move for Liverpool to sack Arne Slot.

“The outside world is always trying to create something between the team and the manager. But it’s totally different in this building. We are working well every day with this manager and his staff. There is no thought about not being behind the manager. This is just something (talked about) on the outside.”

I've heard an interesting theory👀
Liverpool’s long-term plan has always been to appoint Luis Enrique in summer 2027, with Slot seen now as a transitional manager.
That’s why he wasn’t given a new contract, and Enrique hasn't signed new contract at PSG because LFC interest and talks behind the scenes.
The problem is the situation with Slot has become nearly too toxic to sustain.
That’s why they didn’t go for Alonso and aren’t interested in Iraola for just one season.
The plan now seems to be to stick with Slot, then use an interim if it goes wrong (Gerrard) — bridging until Enrique arrives next summer.
This makes far more sense than the idea that Hughes and Edwards genuinely believe Slot will turn it around long-term.
What do ye think???
