Great night celebrating the boys basketball team at the Montgomery County Athlete of the Year Award Ceremony. Congrats to Luis Tirado and Aundray Fowler on representing Amsterdam! Aundray took home the boys honor this year!! Appreciate Tay Fisher taking the time to take a photo with the team and talking about his career! @GASDAthletics #amsterdamrams #tayfisher
Couldn’t be more proud of my son @aundrayfow! He’s always done it his own way. We are always here to support him in every aspect of his life. Go Get It!!!

The Amsterdam boys basketball team battle to the very end, but Penfield made the key plays down the stretch as the Rams fell in the Class AA state championship game on Saturday at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.

Crowd tells the whole story here.
It was a truly memorable season for @RamsBasketball2 that won’t be defined by this one outcome. Pleasure to be able to cover some of it
FINAL: Amsterdam 63, Rye 54
The Rams led by as much as 24 late and are heading to their first state final in more than three decades.
Aundray Fowler had a team-high 29 points which included five 3-pointers.
Amsterdam, the playoff masters of winning close contests, return to the court Friday morning for Class AA state semifinal action against Section 1 champion Rye.
FINAL: @RamsBasketball2 61, Nottingham 55
The definition of survive and advance. Bulldogs had cut the lead to 1 with 1min to play, but Rocco Natale Jr. hits the clutch 3 to clinch the regional title for the Rams.
Up next…the state Final 4
(2/3) @aundrayfow was integral in securing that victory. Not only did he drop a game-high 26 points, his biggest play of the night didn’t even show up in the box score.
With 7 seconds remaining, Fowler fought for an offensive rebound off a missed FT. He raced for the loose ball, which ultimately went out of bounds off Nisky, giving Amsterdam possession with 4.5 ticks left, and the Rams were able to run out the clock.
3 years after suffering heartache in the Class A final - blowing a 17-point lead to Troy and losing in double overtime - Amsterdam erases that sour taste and leaves Harding Mazzotti Arena as section champions for the first time since 1996. @GASDAthletics@Section_2_hoops@Hoops518
Amsterdam senior guard Aundray Fowler is named the Class AA tournament's Most Valuable Player. He scored a game-high 26 points in the championship win over Niskayuna.
Got to see a solid program today in the @sect2athletics championship game, as they were able to win their first sectional championship since 1995. S/O to @RamsBasketball2 on the win, as they will advance to the @NYSPHSAA regional championship next week.
