That’s one of those fun quirks of English numbers.
From one to nine hundred ninety-nine, none of the number names contain the letter “A.”
The first time it appears is in one thousand the “a” in thousand.
So technically, the letter A doesn’t show up in number names until you hit 1000. Pretty neat little linguistic Easter egg.
