CPSP Secretary has officially responded on private hospitals paying zero or shamefully low salaries to FCPS/MCPS trainees.

CPSP policy is clear:

First Fellowship: Rs.104,000/month
Second Fellowship: Rs.150,000/month

Now the next logical step is simple:

Any private medical college or hospital that wants MBBS seats next session must first prove that it pays its trainee doctors according to notified policy.

You cannot earn crores from medical students, charge patients in the name of teaching hospitals, and then treat young doctors like unpaid labour.

No stipend.
No trainees.
No MBBS intake.

White coats are not charity workers.
They are doctors.

Big development for medical students and young doctors.

After the Lahore High Court’s direction, the PM&DC President is set to meet the petitioners online, along with Advocate Supreme Court Azhar Siddique sb, on two serious issues:

Private medical colleges charging extra fees, and FCPS/MCPS trainees and House Officers being made to work with zero salaries.

This is not just an administrative hearing. It is a test of whether medical regulation stands with students and young doctors or allows unchecked exploitation to continue.

A doctor cannot serve with dignity when the system treats training as free labour.

A student cannot study with peace when colleges treat education as a blank cheque.

Now the matter is before PM&DC under court direction.

The response must be practical, written, and enforceable.

No illegal extra fee.
No unpaid training.
No exploitation in the name of medical education.

Dr Yasmin Rashid was with us at the Kot Lakhpat jail trial till 6pm today despite her old age, deteriorating health and the hot weather as yet another jail trial is reaching conclusion.

Her 84 year old husband, Rashed Nabi Malik Sb, was also present as he always is to support his wife.

Courts need to consider her suspension and appeal applications soon and authorities need to consider shifting her to a good hospital.

It’s been more than three years that she has been incarcerated despite her age, health and other factors all being in favour of her being granted bail earlier (and now suspension of sentence on the same grounds).
