The dilemma facing many MPs is now a no-deal govt led by Boris Johnson or a second referendum under Corbyn. We put that same conundrum to the public:
48% - no deal and no Corbyn
35% - PM Corbyn with second EU referendum

"The worst chart in the world: Biggest top pattern of any market I've ever seen in my entire career, or any market I've ever seen in history“ @RaoulGMI warns of a Lehman moment at Eurozone banks as EuroStoxx Banks has dropped to critical 80 level https://t.co/qhi2g6d54G via @welt
@simpdevil@LouisHenwood@DExEUgov Mate, shhhh!! Stop using facts like that to ruin his argument- you’ll upset him. Especially given all the pretty maps he’s gone to the trouble of using.
@andyrumble@authorbtwomey If the Tories or Labour don’t win, who will call a 2nd Ref? Lib Dems? Brexit Party? Who says remain will win even if it is called? And who says that will be the end of the matter even if remain does win? Best way for GBP to soar (sustainably) is in the years following a No Deal.
@andyrumble@authorbtwomey Sure, a General Election might spark a #GBPUSD rally, but for how long? A day or two until the market realises it will either strengthen Boris’ hand, or make Corbyn PM- both of which will weaken GBP. One way or another, #GBPUSD is heading to ~1.09.
Good Morning from #Germany where the banking doom deepens. German Banks Index has hit a fresh all-time low as Commerzbank mkt cap has shrunk to €6.2bn and Deutsche mkt cap to €12.8bn.
@authorbtwomey Thanks for the reply Brian. I’m genuinely just trying to understand.. You’ve been calling for #GBPUSD to 1.37 since price was above 1.29, and called for an ‘absolute bottom’ at 1.23/24. Price is now 1.20. Every trader errs- that’s normal- but how are those methods “perfect”?
@ckhalsa@authorbtwomey While parliament can stop No Deal in theory, it would be very difficult & messy to do in practice- possibly involving the Queen. Laws could be changed or a General Election called, but either way there is barely enough time. No Deal is the most likely outcome now. #GBPUSD to 1.09
@fromTGA Misleading at best. You need to subtract the remain votes of the 3 million EU citizens who wouldn’t be allowed to vote in a 2nd ref.
Assuming the same 37% turnout for them, that’s 1.1m votes off remain, giving you:
Pro-Brexit: 37.3%
Anti-Brexit: 36.1%

@amanda57a @Life909090 And if Corbyn gets in? 😂 I often wonder what will send the pound lower: Corbyn or ‘No Deal’.
The pound is realising it has to choose between being run over by a train or a bus..
@authorbtwomey AUDUSD may reverse significantly soon, but #GBPUSD isn’t oversold: It’s going below 1.20. Your often stated long term target of 1.37 won’t happen before then.
@cazziewaz@mansiruia@flybe Yep- and us lazy, illogical passengers will still be flying on proper airlines with our oversized cabin bags long after @Flybe have gone bust.
Courtesy of their (and your) ‘logic’.
@cazziewaz@mansiruia@flybe The problem with @flybe is that it’s run by people who think like you.
Uncaring with no sense of logic, who don’t listen to, or care about, their customers- and then insist they’re always right.
Look what happens when people of your thinking run a company:
@cazziewaz@mansiruia@flybe Think about it?
It cost @flybe €60 to fly me home. Yet they want €70 to check in a bag. Think about it.
Charging €70 knowing they have tiny cabin allowance is “totally avoidable”. Think about it.
Many people on that flight vowed never to fly Flybe again.
Think about it..
