In the midst of a busy art class, where things can get pretty hectic, a peaceful scene unfolds. Kids gather in a spot surrounded by tall trees and scattered leaves on the ground. With paintbrushes in hand, they're ready to work their magic on the leaves they've collected.
The teacher quietly observes, knowing well-planned activities engage children effortlessly. In this uninterrupted setting, their learning unfolds naturally as they explore and create.
With ample time to focus, each child freely expresses, letting their imaginations run wild. It's a beautiful reminder that children's voices, not just the teacher's, should guide learning.
Ashes, Silence and Gratitude!
Yesterday I attended the last rites of a dear friend at the govt crematorium near her home, which is presently managed by the Isha Foundation.
Everyone has to leave, but how gracefully one leaves is what matters. She spent her last few days in total acceptance, absolutely no fear of what was coming!
She was not just a friend. At a time when I was struggling with health issues and mentally being low, she pointed me toward Isha Yoga, a step that has had a lasting impact on me!
There were already 2 families before us performing the processes. Clean ambience of the place and just the prescribed govt fees. Simple rituals were done to her mortal remains. Her husband bowed down to Linga Bhairavi Devi photo inside and lit the camphor which was kept on cowdung cakes and dried dharba grass over her.. and then we watched her being gently sent into the furnace!
An overwhelming feeling churned within me flushing out tears, silence wrapping up the whole space - life is so brief, why are we not even aware of this!
And I left the place..
The family would wait for about 45 mins to an hour to collect the ashes. They will be performing the Kalabhairava Karma at Isha - a ritual for the deceased, done by invoking Devi’s grace within a particular time span after death.
Isha currently operates 33 such crematoriums or Kayantha Sthanams in Tamilnadu in partnership with the State Govt.
Before leaving the place, I said farewell to someone whose influence will continue accompanying me, through yoga, everyday! 🙏🏽
Its Akshaya Tritiya and we bought rock salt!
Not just from the Kitchen in Kashi, Annapoorani Devi gives abundance to everyone everywhere. Akshaya Tritiya is known to be the day when she appeared to restore food to a starving world.
We have 4 different types of Annapoorani Devi idols in our pooja room. She is depicted holding the Anna Patra in one hand and a serving spoon in the other - a symbol of 'limitless giving'!
Lord Rama prayed to Annapurna Devi to eliminate the hunger of the Vanar Sena and bless them to be victorious.
Buying gold has become popular in recent times, but traditionally, this day is celebrated by serving annam (food) with the heart of a Mother.
My mother tells me that usually we do not buy Annapoorani idol for ourself, but always gift it to someone else! So the ones we have are all gifted from friends or relatives!
Teaching children the value of "less is more" through math, guiding them to simplicity can be an interesting and invaluable topic of discussion.
Pausing and posing the question of what truly matters in life, challenges core beliefs, and resists the allure of materialism.

“A true politician is one who stands by the common man in their hour of need”and Dr. @SuryahSG, State President of @BJP4TamilNadu Yuva Morcha, proved just that.
When my son & daughter-in-law were caught in the recent #Philippines earthquake during their honeymoon, I reached out to him in panic. Despite being in the middle of a campaign, he immediately responded, took details, and assured all help through the MEA.
Thanks to his swift action and commitment, our children contacted us safely after 7 anxious hours. 🙏
Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Suryah & @BJP4India for nurturing leaders who serve selflessly.
And deepest thanks to Hon. PM @narendramodi ji for transforming Bharath 🇮🇳 from being exploited to becoming a nation that leads and protects its people.
By act of Dr. Suryah, am motivated to serve people thru his leadership. Jai Hind.
Bharat Mata Ki Jai 🇮🇳”

Have you tried this?

One can behave entirely different in the world with the same body and mind. That's the magical transformation of Yoga! #InternationalYogaDay
We may be amongst people, we might be doing a group activity but our part we are doing alone. We could be at some market place and be unbothered by what others are doing or thinking, eating what we want or buying what we like! That's what Yoga does!
Just like we take bath alone,
Just like we eat alone,
Just like we sleep alone,
We also do Yoga alone!
The whole idea behind Yoga is to make us confident enough to do anything we love, independently. Yoga is not about perfection, its about showing up regularly.
🧠 Why You Don’t Get Sick Twice (Usually!) – Immune Memory Explained
Ever wondered why you only get chickenpox once, but the flu keeps coming back? 🤔
Let’s talk about one of the immune system’s coolest tricks: memory.
A thread 🧵👇
It doesn’t matter where you travel, there will always be toddlers roaming around to smile, wave at you, and welcome you.
This video from Vietnam brought back many great memories from my time in SE Asia. Earlier in my global health career, I had the privilege of working with an incredible NGO, The Lake Clinic (TLC) – Cambodia. (@TLCC2008)
The dedicated team at TLC serves thousands of people who live in remote floating villages who otherwise would not have access to medical care. You can see some of the critical work they do on their website: https://t.co/pNEctyaIG0

And this is the answer provided..
"Obesity, why is it happening? When something is going wrong with your body, it's your business to understand. Either you're eating too much or your metabolic activity is not good.
If you're eating too much, you lack exercise, you must see what to do about. But if... genuinely, if your metabolism is such that you're gaining weight in an unfair way, then there are simple Yogic practices with which you can set right your metabolic activity and make yourself proper.
It's not just because other... somebody is looking at you or not looking at you. Keeping your body in good condition, making it function well, is an essential responsibility for every human being.
So, if you're not able to do it by yourself, if you don't know how to eat, how to be, what to do, there are simple programs with which this can be corrected."

I myself was a throwball player during my school days. Sports is such a liberating experience, in the sense that no other thoughts bother us while in intense play!
As part of the Isha #GramotsavamFinals2024 Para-volleyball players brought their energy and passion to Isha Home School for an exciting game. The match highlighted the spirit of inclusion, breaking barriers, and embracing the power of sport.
Today in front of the Adiyogi, along with Sadhguru, many other famous sports personalities like
⚽️Thulasimathi Murugesan - Parabadmintonist
🏐Mariyappan Thangavelu - Paralympian
🏏Venkatesh Prasad - Cricketer
🏏Virender Sehwag - Cricketer
are gracing the whole event of sports, cultural activities and fun!
The ‘No Detention Policy’ was instituted with the right intention of containing dropout rates. However, today we have created millions of youth who are 14-15 years of age who have the attitude of the educated but no real education. We have put them into the school system so they are incapable of picking up traditional skills like farming, carpentry or smithery; neither are they qualified for mainstream jobs. It is time to revisit the idea of compulsory education in a way that it serves our children & the Nation. -Sg
Will miss you @ashwinravi99, i have always searched the stats and record books every time you played. You wont believe i have even compiled the 4000 runs 300&400 wkts allrounder list ready. I am fond of records and stats be it weather or cricket or chess and you broke so many records at will.
A batsman in Indian Cricket team can fail so many times yet, he wont be dropped because they will say class is permanent, but for a bowler that class is permanent is not applicable. It is sad the way you have to retire, there was really more cricket left in you. Even in the recent pink ball test, i felt you bowled well, though wkts column may not show how well you bowled.
Many Batsman in our team cant play in swinging or bouncy pitches yet they are not selected based on that capability. This is applicable only for bowlers. Australia (Lyon) or Srilanka (Murali avg of 75 in Aus) used to play their champion bowlers irrespective of the pitches. India did not.
Will miss you a lot a lot in seeing u play with red ball.
