@lunacyandmagic Well, yeah, I guess at a basic emotional level, we all know what it's like to experience joy or pain. I guess I draw a distinction between 'like' and 'relate'. Just because I can relate doesn't mean I'll like, and vice versa.

@Author_PCorrell Then I'd try to help him figure out what's getting in his way (without being critical or pushy, of course). Could be any variety of things - from difficulty dealing with distraction to deep insecurity. It can only help him in the long run.

@abbythetweet I find it sometimes helps to step away from the project for a bit, until you either start feeling positive about the changes or realize the whole thing was a false start and it's better to move on to something else.
Unless you've been given a deadline for said project... 😬
@TheophanesAvery All the trees lining our street were about finished off by the elm beetle infestation. But they were still standing - until an ice storm took them all down in spectacular fashion. I saw a 50-foot tall tree split right down the middle.
@lunacyandmagic As a white guy, can I truly 'relate' to a POC character? Still, I like reading them (and LGBTQ+) because they broaden my worldview and help me understand.
