The Burn Ban Order from Randall County has been extended for another 90 days. This order was acted on today by the Randall County Commissioner's Court. No outdoor burning of any type until May 27, 2026. If conditions improve the order may be disolved by the court.

Yesterday RCFD Firefighter Seth Neilson became the first rescue/swimmer to perform a hoist rescue operation in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Using TX DPS helicopter saved approx. 1.5 hours of hiking time on this rescue. The 30 yr. old male was hoisted out to waiting EMS.
A Texas DPS aircrew from Lubbock was dispatched for a rescue mission at the Palo Duro Canyon Park. The aircrew was requested to assist with hoisting a 30-year-old male suffering a medical emergency. The patient was delivered to waiting EMS personnel at the entrance of the Park.
