The Knicks won the series 4-1.
They won the season series 6-2 including the NBA Cup.
The Knicks were down by double digits in 7 of those 8 games.
They’ve been walking down the Spurs all season.
What do you call a team that loses after consistently giving up huge leads?
Am I the only Knicks fan that is a little sports depressed today bc everything is over?
Feels like when you finish an amazing tv series and you now have to find something else to watch but nothing will compare with the show you just watched
Am I insane for feeling this way?
Tell me again how the Jalen Brunson hype is too much…
7 trophies in a single season?
Crazy. Work.
2nd Rd pick. Not Athletic. Too Small. Not Worth the Contract.
Bros still UNDERRATED.
On June 19, 1865, African American communities in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom from slavery — two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation took effect.
For 161 years, Juneteenth has been a day of remembrance for the freedom that was delayed. It is also a celebration of the joy and resilience that flourished despite that delay.
The contributions of African Americans, whose struggle for freedom shaped our nation, are immeasurable. Yet too many Black families continue to bear the brunt of an affordability crisis that has pushed them out of the neighborhoods and communities they've built.
True freedom has a tangible impact on daily life: the ability to afford housing, earn a living wage, put food on the table, support a family, and create a future for generations to come.
As we celebrate today, we must recommit ourselves to ensuring this freedom is fully realized.
Happy Juneteenth, New York City.
NBA Finals shooting splits:
"Inefficient small guard" Brunson - .421/.389/.860
"generational 7'4 C who dominated and just got so unlucky" Wembanyama - .423/.273/.786
“I appreciate the tough love…. Some fans might be a little bit crazier than others, but the ones that truly care, and want me to be better, don't stop now; just keep pushing me."
If anyone deserves to soak in NYK’s title celebration, it’s Mikal Bridges: https://t.co/OtYSBIWvo2
Look. I get that this is hard to accept.
It was hard for people to accept Steph Curry, too.
A 6’2 point guard isn’t supposed to be able to make it in the NBA, let alone cook a 7’4 center and carry the entire team on his back to close out the Finals.
But that’s exactly what makes Jalen Brunson’s story so compelling. He could be any of us. He wasn’t born with a genetic height advantage. He just worked his butt off, developed the best footwork and floater shot in the world, and used his doubters to fuel his work ethic. That’s what sports is about.
I wish the rest of you could feel what Knicks fans feel right now. But again, I understand the contrarian impulse and the jealousy. Any time you’re willing to let go of that, you can become a Jalen Brunson fan.
Join us and become a part of his journey. Because he ain’t done yet.
Incredible tweet.
Friends - the days of punching up are over. We look down upon the discourse. The rest of the league. We no longer have to engage. Let the rest of em grapple with this new reality.
We can just enjoy it.
The war is over.
I love Kyrie a lot. And in a couple ways he is better than Brunson. Brunson could do what Kyrie did in those 16 finals, Kyrie couldn’t do what Brunson just did.
Brunson’s intangibles supersedes any talent gap there is between them. Brunson is overall better.
Thinking about how the end of the season is always sort of sad…and you sign off to people till the fall… and lament what happened…and try to justify what was good and try to feel positive about next year.
…And how none of that shit applies.
Not wasting any time or energy arguing about Brunson with anyone. He has averaged nearly 30 PPG in 61 career playoff games for the Knicks. He just led the Knicks to their first chip in 53 years and outplayed the reigning 2-time MVP against a Spurs team where he had to face one of the league’s best defenders with the unanimous DPOY roaming the paint. He scored 45 of their 94 points on the road to lock up the title. What more do people want?
