It took a few decades but there is increasing recognition that Richard Nixon was one cool dude. The Old Man persists! #nixonmaxxing@nixonfoundation https://t.co/ORTkARhgy3
On June 29th, we announced and revealed plans to build a new educational center and kicked off those plans with a grand sendoff for the Presidential Helicopter as it temporarily departs the campus for a complete restoration at March Field Air Museum in Riverside, California.
The completely-restored helicopter will return in 2028 as a centerpiece of this new building. The six-ton Sikorsky VH-3A “Sea King” served from 1961 to 1976 as a flying Oval Office for Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford.
@MikeKoncewicz@NixonandIke Because there appears to me to be serious wrong doing by the Judge & Prosecutors & while I believe it exonerates Nixon there is an argument to be made that both things are true too. But it’s hard to discuss when one side claims all they did was just when it obviously wasn’t
@MikeKoncewicz@NixonandIke I would love to see a full discussion of ALL the facts laid out & examined with none of the hyperbole & vitriol. I have yet to discuss Nixon with out wild swings being thrown at me from the left. I give as good as I get but I would a full discussion that doesn’t slide into that
The thing about Nixon is he's one of the few genuinely middle-class Presidents. Didn't come from a family like the Kennedys, Roosevelts, Bushes. Wasn't from the Military Industrial Complex like Eisenhower, or the Deep State like Clinton/Obama/Biden. Not a billionaire like Trump.

I love that Vance is talking up #RichardNixon , as a person who has defended Nixon since my own childhood. The change in the perception of Nixon in the past 4 years has been profound.
JD Vance: "I think Nixon's historical legacy is enjoying a bit of a renaissance, and deservedly so. I joked that if Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be like a 12 hours news story. The idea that it took down a presidency is crazy."
JD Vance on Richard Nixon:
Nixon's coalition in '72 is actually durable and much more closely resembles the Trump coalition of 2024 than the Reagan coalition of '84.
What Reagan did in '84 was run up huge margins with white Americans, and of course he won a historic landslide. But the country is much less white today than it was in 1984.
Nixon's coalition was unbelievably durable through the demographic changes we've seen in the United States. Reagan probably could not have won his landslide in 2024. Richard Nixon maybe could have.
I think there's a very important political lesson in that for all of us in the Republican Party.
He was actually like a political genius.
@MikeKoncewicz No it was about the Judge meeting in secret with prosecutors who were busy rigging with John Doar what the Congressional committee saw all while the media ignored it all.
