Mouse the opossum thanks you.
@Nomad66843968@Oilfield_Rando Im a professional wildlife rehabber and Mouse didn't meet release criteria with his 11 siblings. We love him but i'd never intentionally seek one out as a pet π Messy, needy and often stinky.
@Beezerally@JakeThirteenth The pedialyte is absolutely something a rehabber would do! Just a little is fine. They can go quite a while without food/water but not very long without warmth. You're doing everything right! If you have trouble finding a sanctuary call some local vets. They usually can help!
@JakeThirteenth@Beezerally Hard to say based on a photo, but #1 for a baby squirrel is heat! Get it on a heating pad set on the lowest setting or a sock filled with rice and heated. Google your local wildlife rescue. Generally advised not to feed or offer water till rescue. Very easy to drown a weak baby.
@AngelaL15908072 Keep quite and dark in a box with a towel. You can offer a shallow dish of water for lapping. If you live in a state where it is legal to house opossums, in theory you could... but even though they are cuties I don't recommend it. Lots of dietary requirements and health problems
