Is this the first Nats game ever to start at 3:15 ET?
Pretty sure they’ve never been out west on Peacock, and I don’t remember any game start in the 3:00 ET hour other than a day game in Denver/SF or game 162.
And :15 is generally just an odd time (any hour) to start a game.
@ajflax This whole post (outside of the exact contract numbers) makes so much more sense for Wood. They have a wealth of IF tearing up the minors, including a #1 pick. Turn CJ into a a bunch of arms and improve the pitching. Wood is who they really need to lock up.
@royalmusing@andrewcgolden That you have been going to games for decades isn’t relevant to anything here, but you have your facts wrong. The original Nats were already gone in 1962 (moved to Minnesota the year prior), the team in DC at that point was the expansion Nats, who would move to Texas in 1972.
@royalmusing@andrewcgolden Again, you’re the only person complaining about this. No one is phased in 2026 by a crowd at a sporting event chanting “fuck the [opposing team].” That’s a LOT better than the monotonous, boring, unengaged crowd Nats Park often has.
@royalmusing@andrewcgolden It doesn’t, & you are in an extreme minority that it bothers you. Please know that. Energy & passion are desperately needed at Nats Park.
Player specific chants, “F you Fairbanks” and more. During a sweep at 1pm on a Wednesday!
I’m truly sorry you can’t see positivity in this.
@GrantPaulsen Even in the face of an ugly sweep against a bad team, during a week day 1pm game, it was pretty packed and loud.
Far more energy from the 100 guys in this section than the 12,000 people in the rest of the stadium combined.
@jhatem@EBJunkies True, that’s got nothing to do with what EB is saying though. He’s surprised that the rule permits re-entry, he’s not saying he’s shocked she doesn’t need more rest to pitch again.
@royalmusing@andrewcgolden You’re the sole person on here complaining about this (on every post).
A group that ignites a passion into the Nats Park crowd, chanting, waving shirts, etc., is pleasantly welcomed and celebrated by everyone else.
Sorry that chants against the opponent bother you so much.
@GrantPaulsen Monster masher. Super slugger. Icon. Local legend.
Much like Soto declining an offer from the Nats in 2022 that would have made him the highest paid player in MLB history, I wonder if there’s any offer that the Nats would make currently that James would accept.
@PFTCommenter They have 3 elite infield prospects tearing up the minors at multiple levels. Including a #1 pick.
Trade CJ by the deadline, when his value is highest, get a huge pitching haul, then leverage that into fixing the weaknesses.
Extend Wood for sure, though.
Alex Avila, 2021
7,862 innings in the field in his career. Only FIVE of them were at 2B. It happened the last time the Nats were above .500 this deep into the year, July 1, 2021.
The Grant and Danny “Nats are over .500” parade is on for tomorrow!
Tuesday at 5:25 PM. It’s finally happening!
⚾️ We will walk from the station (1015 Half Street SE) to the CF gate. 4 blocks total.
⚾️ The plan will be for people to make signs and wear Nats gear and walk with us to the ballpark.
⚾️ We will go to Walter’s at the ballpark for a game watch and hang at the start of tomorrow’s 6 PM game. (Walters will give the first 100 fans in Nats gear that show up a free beer).
