@londonbluenews if you press that high and the opponents 6 is still that free and can play a free pass with no pressure, there was already a huge huge mistake. thats not on lacroix at all
So many Chelsea fans are certain not to trust the process anymore. Many are already saying Xabi Alonso is not the man for the project.
Let me tell you something: you know nothing about football.
If you’re expecting Chelsea to start bringing in quick results, if you’re expecting Chelsea to start winning every game with the type of defence we have, then you know nothing about football. Moments like this are meant to happen. We all should be expecting moments like this this season.
And it won’t take long. It will take one, two, three months. This phase we are expecting for the first three months into the season is a normal thing. Every big club that is rebuilding experiences it.
Liverpool did. Chelsea did under Conte. When we had a terrible season before he came in, we had terrible moments like this. More, more, more terrible moments.
This is Xabi Alonso’s first season for Chelsea, and we agreed. Even the Chelsea hierarchy agreed that he needs time to build a team. And that time is going to take one to two years to build his team.
Yes, we all want quick results, but if we really want to be like Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, with consistent results, we have to give our manager time.
We all saw how Mikel Arteta’s first two, three seasons for Arsenal were. It was chaotic, unacceptable. But the fans stood with him, the board stood with him, and gave him a chance.
Let me tell you something: this is Xabi Alonso’s first five games of the season, and so far it’s not even that bad as you guys are painting it.
Jürgen Klopp’s first five Premier League games for Liverpool in his first season, he had only two wins in five games and three draws. Xabi Alonso also had two losses, one draw, two wins.
But you guys need to understand: this is a gradual process.
We all saw how Jürgen Klopp built Liverpool from nothing to something and turned them into competitors.
Xabi Alonso is also rebuilding. We finished 10th last season. We all saw how Chelsea were bad last season. We didn’t have an identity. This season Chelsea have an identity and we are trying to implement it.
Shout out to Jordan Henderson for being outstanding yesterday. He showed us something that we have been missing. For years I have not seen any Chelsea midfielder whip crosses the way he did it, with that stress. He was whipping crosses, accurate crosses. Just that we didn’t have the players, the striker, to convert those chances.
The point is, I know that once Moises Caicedo comes back from injury, Xabi Alonso will start pairing Moises Caicedo with Henderson. Marco Palestra comes back to full fitness, and from now till the next three weeks, Xabi Alonso will find a way to turn things around.
If you’re not ready to ride the boat with us, you can as well change to a new club that will give you results.
As for me, I trust the process and I’m sticking to it.
