@mjfree "We" (who?) are hearing (how? from where?) confirmation (what makes it confirmed)? Are you really this worthless of a person? This is what you do for a living?
The easiest explanation, I believe, is automated censorship triggers get hit. They get hit by getting a certain number of reports (like report -> sexual content). Doesn't matter if the report is true. No human sees those. It's algorithmic. China, therefore, just has to have bot farms deployed to shut down any content that they dislike.
(The American left does this too. Actually the American left does a lot of things the CCP does, which, now that I think about it, is kind of suspicious.)
I can't say this for a fact but "abuse moderation algorithms" is definitely a thing that people do. I have never heard of repercussions for a false report.
After @amazon canceled @parler_social, I canceled everything I had through them:
Amazon Prime, Amazon Music, additional subscriptions through Amazon like Showtime and Paramount+, stopped using my Kindle and unplugged my Echos.
I did eventually go back to Prime. It's too convenient. But the rest I never went back to.
Amazon Music -> Spotify
Subscriptions -> direct or via Hulu
Kindle -> Kobo (Walmart, different ebook store)
Echos -> decided I didn't need to talk to a speaker that badly
To this day I shop directly with manufacturers where it's practical (clothing is usually the exact same price straight from the manufacturer, almost always free shipping too) and use Walmart more.
Amazon is damn convenient but it's not worth getting sucked into a whole ecosystem with a company that has political agendas.
@SGFansUnited You just know the "fresh new perspective" will turn it into an internal drama show, where the team spends more time in conflicts with each other than with any enemies. It's all these "fresh new" writers seem to know. They do it on every show now.
They're brainwashed, and it makes me sad and concerned.
I see people on X like this, but I also know people in real life that I consider to be victims of left-wing propaganda. They live in actual fear and totally unnecessary, unjustified misery because of what they are told from so many angles.
And you can't "correct the record" with them. They are fed emotion and it's all they respond to. What they need to do is disconnect and touch grass and realize their actual lives are okay but what they will do is go online and consume fear-porn until they become unglued, and then go to bed and do it again tomorrow.
A lot of these people are very smart but somehow they have been dragged into this hole, where they can only see one thing, and I don't know how to drag them back out, so they can see everything.
@RobertPicardo@ScottPelley@SpeakerJohnson@GOPHouseOfRep@SenateGOP It will certainly be interesting to see how an alternative voice fares in a media field dominated by the one-sided, one-party sensationalism that replaced the news we used to watch 30 years ago. At this point, Iโm ready to roll those dice.
@esrtweet@nikitabier@brave I'd call it a Brave issue. If they're doing what I think they're doing then it makes you look like a bot account. They should be able to give you a level of protection without randomizing your browser's internal stats.
@TheRubberDuck79 Used to know a guy in shipping. He said all those west coast shipping yards operate off of illegal labor. Yard drivers are supposed to be licensed but they aren't, and few speak English. Democrats protect their illegal underpaid labor force that makes them wealthy.
@japan_nobunaga This works well until you start inviting in people with no such history, and no such culture. They don't believe in conflict resolution through conversation.
