Not only does Google need AI Mode to include ads before they can make AI Mode the default, but also - think about how aggressively Google currently incorporates ads into the search experience.

Many years ago, there was a dark green border around ads and the labeling was clear - and over time, Google ads have gradually grown to look more and more like organic results. And there are now what - 4? 5? Even 6 ads above the fold?

When people like me end up clicking on ads by mistake, that’s when you know things are bad 😂🫠

So not only does AI Mode need ads to be profitable, the integration of ads needs to be AS AGGRESSIVE as Google has been in recent years/months in the search experience.

Kinda defeats the main point of AI Mode, no? Delivering a fast, ad-free, seamless experience to the user?
