Positivity is my superpower. I enjoy creating art, witty sarcasm and the perfect cup of coffee. We are not what we know but what we are willing to learn.

I have to protect my peace and stop watching Dallas. I’m choosing me.

Kids complain about road trips while holding an iPad. I used to stare out the window for six hours and hope we passed a cow.

The absolute worst thing about opening this app is spotting a banger tweet for 0.2 seconds before the feed auto-refreshes and sends it straight into the void.

Gone forever.

In the West, turning sixty is something people try to hide.
You buy anti-aging cream. You joke about retirement homes.

In Japan, when you turn sixty,
your family dresses you in bright scarlet red and throws a massive party.

It's called Kanreki.

The traditional Japanese zodiac operates on a 60-year cycle.
When you reach sixty, you have lived through all five elements
and all twelve animal signs.

The cycle completes.
You return to the beginning.

The red vest — the chanchanko — is the exact color worn by newborn babies.
You are not being called old.
You are being celebrated for being reborn:
with the pure heart of an infant,
and the accumulated wisdom of a lifetime.

Children hug their grandparents.
Sons pour sake for their fathers with both hands.

In Japan, age is not an apology.
Gray hair is not a flaw.

It is a medal you earn by walking this earth for sixty years,
surrounded by the people who exist because you did.

The biggest difference between 1975 and today is that kids were expected to entertain themselves. Give us a bike, a ball and a few neighborhood kids and somehow the entire day disappeared.

How did the Black guy become the center of a trial where he didn't strangled 3 kids?

[Mr. Nobody @MmisterNobody]

It’s wild that it’s become normal to leave your kids at daycare five days a week, eight hours a day, just so you can go to a job that mainly pays for daycare, the car to get there, and a house you’re rarely home to enjoy.

We’re stuck in a cycle of working just to afford a life we barely get to live.

There is something off about jurors who run to the news to get their 15 min of fame in a case that involves 3 dead children.

[Thrilla the Gorilla @ThrillaRilla369]

This should make you angry.
This is Bonnie Pierce, a 38-year-old mother of three from St. Paul, Minnesota. Her house caught fire. She and two of her children escaped, then realized her toddler was still inside.
Bonnie went back in, found the child, but could not get out. She shielded the child with her body. She died from her burns. The child survived.
A GoFundMe for her family raised about $42,000.
By comparison, more than $1,000,000 was raised on GoFundMe for Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing her children.
It is a sad reflection of the society we have become.
RIP Bonnie.

How the hell did we end up in a nightmare timeline where groceries have become both a luxury item AND a health hazard.
