The love of Jesus compelled Him to pursue those who had wandered. Those ostracized from the religious community because of their own behavior or because of circumstances beyond their control. Religious leaders were content to wait. Arms crossed. They led with the Law. Jesus led with compassion. Because He knew their stories: “You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband.” (John 4:16-18) Currently, very few of the most vocal evangelical “influencers” and “leaders” have ever pastored a church. They post and broadcast with arms crossed. Judging. Criticizing. Dividing. Ostracizing. Always “Biblical.” Rarely Christlike. Lots of “Gospel.” But very little Good News. I pray that changes.
This is a methodology to create greater disparity. And since quality of schools is a major factor in where families choose to move/live, it will further expedite stagnation and decline in communities that are already struggling.
This is not the way.
I can’t begin to talk about what a joke this whole jazz-hands BS is. The GOP has been in complete control of education for the past 10 years and majority control for 20. Power corrupts and they haven’t had to listen to anyone for years.
Here is what I am reflecting on this morning based on my coaching work within schools? Why are our people feeling beat down?
My takeaway... Our system is wearing our people down leaving them more vulnerable to feel beat down. In many if not most cases, burnout is not an individual issue, but rather a systemic issue. Thoughts? #Recalibrate
Nice piece, I especially like the funding discussion. It’s precisely correct.
Few Hoosiers really know how heavily education budgets have been cut. The reason is simple—they’ve been misled by so many elected leaders.
“Give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. Give them a voucher system, they’ll take your public school system…[In multiple states] limited voucher programs… targeted to poorer students have blown into entitlement programs for upper-middle class families.” https://t.co/D8SUTqdnfG
🚍🛑 Schools all over are getting ready to head back to school. That means you'll begin to see school buses out on our roads!
Be sure to pay attention when you see school buses on the road and be sure to STOP when the stop arm is displayed!
