Today, Seaspan is proud to share that we have cut steel on the Canadian Coast Guard's new heavy Polar Icebreaker, the most complex and capable ship in their fleet.

Today, we were awarded the build contract for 1 of the @CoastGuardCAN's new heavy polar icebreakers. As the only Canadian shipyard with the expertise, facilities, & domestic supply-chain to build polar icebreakers here at home, this ship will be built entirely in 🇨🇦 at Seaspan.
