The settlement, which received preliminary court approval around August 18–19, 2026, stems from the actions of Cedric Lodge, the longtime manager of Harvard Medical School’s Anatomical Gift Program morgue. Between roughly 2018 and 2022, Lodge stole body parts (including heads, faces, brains, skin, organs, and hands) from cadavers that had been donated for medical education and research. He transported them to his home and sold them (with his wife and other co-conspirators) to buyers in other states as part of a black-market scheme.
