@PolymarketIntel "Trump admin. approved the sale of Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine in 2017. Under the stipulations of this sale, U.S. required that they be stored in the west part of Ukraine, far from the Donbas region, to avoid direct use in the active conflict zone at that time"

🌐🇫🇮Sanna Marin: "The only way to end the war in Ukraine is for Russia to withdraw from the occupied territories." ..in 2022
Former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin (Social Democratic Party, in office 2019–2023) is known for her unequivocal stances on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Her statement from October 2022, which has recently resurfaced on social media, reads: "To end the conflict, Russia must leave the territory of Ukraine - that is the only way to end the war." This quote comes from a press conference where Marin was answering a question about a possible "exit" for Russia from the war.
Marin, who during her term as prime minister advocated Finland's entry into NATO as a response to Russian aggression, emphasized that any territorial concessions by Ukraine would only encourage further invasions.
“If Russia were to win, it would show that invading another country leads to profits,” she warned in interviews from 2023.
Under her leadership, Finland provided Ukraine with hundreds of millions of euros in military aid and supported sanctions against Russia.
At the time, Marinova gave a curt answer to a journalist’s question about “a possible solution for Putin” and left. In 2025, the quote returned to discussions in connection with ongoing peace negotiations, including Trump’s plan, which proposes territorial concessions – a direct contradiction of Marinova’s position.
Marinova has repeatedly stressed solidarity with Ukraine: “Europe cannot afford to let Russia succeed, otherwise Moldova or the Baltics will be next.”
Finland, which shares a 1,340-kilometer border with Russia, sees the Ukrainian conflict as a direct threat to its security. Following the Russian invasion in February 2022, Finland accelerated its NATO accession (completed in April 2023) and increased military spending to 2% of GDP. Marin was one of the key voices pushing for this change.
