There’s not much we can do to change the reality that the biggest beneficiaries of AI will likely be entrepreneurs and investors. For example, while using a robotaxi might save me some money, the savings won’t be particularly significant as to be a complete game changer for me. The real winners will be the owners of these automated services, as robotaxis will be far cheaper to operate—primarily because they eliminate the largest business expense: the driver’s salary.
I believe the worst-case scenario—short of AI going full Skynet and creating terminators—is that it will replace humans in most professions and outperform us. This would leave the majority of people without meaningful work, resulting in a loss of purpose and direction. We could find ourselves living in a “Wall-E”-like world where we do nothing with our lives, mirroring the dynamics of the TV show Benefits Britain but on a much larger scale. While some individuals may adapt, finding new purpose and thriving, many will likely spend their days aimlessly scrolling through platforms like TikTok, disconnected and unfulfilled.
That said, one area where the general public might genuinely benefit is through humanoid robots designed to handle menial chores like cooking and cleaning. This could free people from time-consuming tasks, improving quality of life. Beyond that, though, I don’t see traditional AI (excluding superintelligence) providing much direct benefit to the average person. Some things will be done more effectively and faster however we will lose far more of ourselves in the process, such as the ability to drive, speak a foreign language, interact with other humans, paint a picture, etc
However, thinking further into the future, and probably beyond my time, if we ever achieve genuine AI super-intelligence, it has the potential to advance humanity in ways we can scarcely imagine, unlocking possibilities that could transform our understanding of the world and our place in it.
These are the living standards russia brings everywhere they go. Been that way for generations.
I will never understand why the West keeps trying to save them instead of helping their victims desperate to escape such Hell.
End business with russia.
@hopefullistic@TheDemSlayer This is exactly like him. Trump has always done amazing things. Achievements that no other politician would have the balls to do. But unfortunately he can be bought by Qatar and he is a narcissist - there is no question about that.
@7toedcat2@mikepompeo So you think giving a radical Islamic terrorist regime $300 billion is a good idea
If Biden did this, you would be frothing at the mouth
You think “innovation” matters when it comes to crypto investing
These are just buzz words that people like to throw around to push their favourite coins
They don’t mean much in this space because people just get on the back of latest hype and will pump the shittest coin because it is new
