I made the cardinal mistake of not taking the pictures, man. Today kinda hit me hard hearing some things, and I didn't make that mistake again.

I was given the opportunity to attend the retirement of an outstanding Marine today. Our Sangin deployment, as I've learned over the years, was a particularly bad one. This Marine, not only headed a platoon and withstood the losses, has taken a piece of turmoil and made it a mission to make sure that the Marines after us, survive the hell combat throws at you. From when I knew him as a Sgt, to now retiring as a Warrant Officer in charge of combat training for young Marines, this man has given his all to make sure what happened there, doesn't ever happen again.
This man deserves every damn minute with his family.
