@AdahopAda To expand, with DOT regs, for CMV/truck tires, sidewall damage of any kind requires a replacement of the tire. Certain amounts of damage, wear, and repair are allowed for the tread, but not sidewall damage, that's an automatic replacement due to the much greater risk of failure.

@AdahopAda Dear Ada, I am not a mechanic but I am a truck driver with 20 yrs experience, and a lifelong gearhead. Replace that tire. The sidewall is the thinnest part of the tire, and any damage to it can lead to a catastrophic failure, and it will often happen without warning.
