Absolutely right, @LordAshcroft.
I helped found the APPG on Endangered Species and campaigned for the UK’s Ivory Act. I’ve seen how law and enforcement can shift behaviour.
South Africa must end captive-lion breeding and the bone trade, not roll it back.

Today marks the sad closure of the Lord Ashcroft Gallery at the Imperial War Museum. It has been a remarkable space, honouring extraordinary courage and sacrifice. (1/3)
Among the heroes featured are Aidan Liddell VC and Manley James VC, both of whom are connected to North East Hampshire. Their stories – like so many others told here – deserve to continue inspiring generations to come. (2/3)
Below replacement fertility is *the* under-discussed issue in our politics.
Why are taxes rising to pay for worse services?
Why are state pensions so much more burdensome to pay for?
Why have successive govts pursued lax migration policies?
Below. Replacement. Birth. Rate.
For every retweet of this post, I will donate £1 to the @VC_and_GC_Assoc up to £50,000.
Time is running out following @I_W_M’s decision to close the Lord Ashcroft Gallery.
Visit while you still can, to honour the bravery of those who risked so much to protect our great nation.
I was so sorry to read this, @Andrew__Kennedy.
My elderly father had a very similar experience in Chineham @Tesco last year.
When I had my first job – in retail – my colleagues and I wouldn’t have dreamt of treating law-abiding customers in this way.
Hi @Tesco
On Good Friday I experienced the most awful and humiliating experience in your Hurst Park (Surrey) store. I popped in to pick up groceries on my way to visit friends. I used “scan as you go” as I always do, and paid £75.92 for my groceries, using my Apple Pay.
💐 Wishing you a happy and blessed Easter.
🙌 Today, we all celebrated the ultimate triumph of light over darkness, of life over death – in a packed church where we queued to get in. Something is happening here in Hampshire!

It is an honour and a privilege to have been elected to lead our great Conservative Party. A party that I love, that has given me so much.
I’d also like to pay tribute to @RobertJenrick who fought a great campaign. I have no doubt he will have a key role to play in our party for many years to come.
Thank you to all the members who have put their faith in me.
It is time to get down to business.
It is time to renew.
Congratulations to @KemiBadenoch on being elected @Conservatives party leader.
I know that she will be a superb leader of our great party. She will renew our party, stand up for Conservative values, and take the fight to Labour.
Let’s unite behind her.
Our interview with PM in Samoa
PM says those with assets are ‘not working people’, hinting at possible tax rises for investors….
Q: Someone who works but gets that income from assets as well, such as shares or property, are they a working person?
PM: Well, they wouldn't come within my definition
Extraordinary admissions from BMA junior doctors committee co-chair:
🔴 Confirmed strikes over last two years were linked to the general election.
🔴 Don’t regard huge 22% rise offered by Labour enough.
🔴 Plan to strike again in 12 months for more.
Today’s cut will be welcome news for millions of homeowners and shows that Labour inherited a stronger economy which was on the right track.
In government, we took difficult decisions that cut inflation from 11.1 per cent to the Bank’s target 2.0 per cent paving the way for lower rates. Our concern is that further substantive cuts may now take longer because of inflation-busting public sector pay rises rushed through by the Chancellor ahead of the summer.
Labour have decided to cut the London housing target by 20%.
This is a deliberate attempt to build in Conservative seats rather than where homes are needed most. Labour are putting party before country.
I am shocked and saddened by the scenes in Pennsylvania overnight at President Trump’s rally.
There is no place in society for political violence and threats to democracy - my thoughts and condolences are with those affected... (1/2)
