The death of George Floyd has rightly ignited fury and anguish not just in the USA but around the world. No country, city, police force or institution can be complacent about racism and the impact this has.
Heading to Sacramento!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who voted for me, it is such an honor to be leading in the race for Governor with 65% of the vote counted.
Change is Coming!
@GBNEWS I don't think the apology is enough. There is a HUGE difference between 'pure, cold rage' and 'white cold rage'. But Matt Chorley shrugs it off: "It didn’t change the content of the interview."
This is wrong. It doesn't matter who you vote for, but Kemi Badenoch expressly stated that ALL lives matter and it shouldn't be about someone's race. This sort of "attack ad" isn't about facing up to important issues, it's just a lie.
We need to have “colour blind policing.” The terrible consequences of failing to do so are horrifyingly apparent. Both Conservatives and Reform UK back this “all lives matter” approach. Silly to pretend there is a dispute between them on this issue.
I have been posting and writing about the Henry Nowak tragedy for three weeks, and have nothing new to say. Except one thing. That box-ticking phrase from the female officer when the murderer denies having stabbed Henry.
“I know, but we have to check, don’t we?”
What we hear in those words is not just the madness of DEI, which has taught her automatically to believe the non-white assailant over the white victim. We hear, too, the obsession with procedure, the elevation of HR, the triumph of public-sector seminars over decency. A culture of compliance has displaced a culture of conscience.
Our MPs take the knee for George Floyd. His death must be a catalyst for change. The Labour Party stands with those opposing racism and oppression in the UK and across the world.
The death of the criminal George Floyd, 4,000 miles away, prompted Andy Burnham to support Black Lives Matter and promise positive discrimination. Yet no tweets from him about Henry Nowak. What a surprise!
“Our show of support for #BlackLivesMatter will mean more to people if it is accompanied by our own reflection and promise of action.”
Greater Manchester’s leaders have issue a detailed statement on the callous murder of George Floyd. You can read it here 👇
If you don't believe look the stuff in this "Police Race Action Plan" which says: "The challenge for this plan is to create a police service that is anti-racist. Only being ‘not racist’ is not enough. It requires a much more active approach and mind-set." https://t.co/Ii7SIvqWEU
We need to have "colour blind policing." Equality before the law. That is specifically repudiated in the training given to police officers from the College of Policing and the National Police Chiefs Council. So we have two-tier policing - where the police follow their training!
Imagine if the police were told that shouldn't arrest more men than women as that would prove they were discriminatory. Or more young people than pensioners. They should be told to do their job without fear or favour.
Doped-up hippy heckling Ronald Reagan, then Governor of California: “Make love not war.” Reagan retorted: “Son, looking at you right now, I don’t think you could make either.” https://t.co/CxJEK8ZQCr
