[Edd Coates | Game UI Database 2.0 @EddCoates]

I'm pleased to announce that around 200 pages' worth of UI/UX tutorial resources are coming to the Game UI Database for FREE via a brand new blog. No ads. No paywalls. No email signups.
Here's a preview of the first piece dropping next week, all about crafting cross-platform control schemes and layouts!

Oh, and I think it goes without saying, but this is an AI-free zone.

(1) One thing I’ve noticed that frustrates indie devs is creating animations. As an animator I had no idea people would struggle with it cause it’s what I do all day 😅 So I thought I’d share my workflow which is pretty standard for animators when we start a new shot🧵

💨AONIC // Amiga Sonic (A1200 2MB Chip).
Aim is to have a public demo of Green Hill Zone Act 1 by end of August to show current progress.
Video is captured on WinUAE. Running well on hardware, but does drop frames occasionally.

@JoelMayerProds Congrats Joel!

This is how we used to make 3D graphics for the NES!

Cobra Triangle, Captain Skyhawk, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Solar Jetman and RC Pro-Am all used this technique!

It took time, but it was worth it!

I worked on Illusion of Gaia in parallel with ActRaiser 2. By that time, I had become quite familiar with Quintet’s editor tools, and I felt I was in a good rhythm while working.

After making a few simple sketches to get a sense of the design, I mostly went straight into pixel art. Details like clothing and flowing hair were created directly in pixels.

Irgendwohin by Siriusmo has been completely stuck in my head for weeks. If anyone heard me humming something, it's probably been this song

[Johan Vinet @johanvinet]

Also, LUNARK is human-made, frame by frame. No AI involved, just pure dedication and love for the craft. 🥰

[BenPalc @Ranoka]

@Jakob_Wahlberg If it's UGUI, couldn't you use Screen Space mode and the scene camera? You may need some extra logic for the 3D stuff to scale properly with the Canvas. But that way does look fun!

[Oh, My Doug! | Odd Men In Studios @RealOddMenIn]

Everything is animated frame-by-frame.

No AI involved.

The thing you guys dont realize is that @PlanetRidiculon are professional TOURING muscians.. they could play these songs LIVE and they would sound AMAZING! Check out Eatin Rats unplugged...
Imagine a full scale production of this on stage at the @thegameawards with choreographed cat dancers!
