POLICE FOLLOWING LEADS IN PREGGY PADAYACHEE MURDER

Police are following a number of leads following the murder of Preggy Padayachee, a family member of former Major-General Feroz Khan.

Sources say investigators are looking into the possibility that the murder was linked to a money deal, and that it is unlikely to be connected to Khan’s testimony before the Madlanga Commission.

Padayachee reportedly received a call from someone he knew, who claimed his vehicle had broken down along the R21.

Padayachee and a friend drove to the scene. When they arrived, gunmen opened fire. Padayachee was killed instantly.

Sources say the vehicle was allegedly not broken down and that Padayachee was lured to the location.

The investigation is continuing as police work to establish the motive and identify those responsible.
