#Below..."reviewers" STINK of paid opposition. This show thus far (Ep7-8 left) has been a breath of fresh air after Carrie. Here's my review: Like Lovecraft, John Carpenter, and the Gen-X king himself?.....WATCH it yourself and formulate your own opinion.
MY opinion? @Josh_Hartnet did a bang up job, as usual.
@Oilfield_Rando I smell something...
This show was a breath of fresh air after Carrie.
Whoever did the paid opposition thingy should get their money back.
On a side note:
Whenever @Sugar_Tits_Bear's intro song comes on, I dance JUST like Matt Damon dancing to "Hot Stuff" in "The Martian".
It's a Monk-style OCD thing, can't explain it...but I'm cool with it.
After watching #Carrie, I'm not sure I'm looking forward to #Flanagan's Dark Tower adaptation. Not to mention, hoy shizz ANOTHER Carrie adaptation?
What happened to poor Charlie McGee? You'd think the "muh fem power" crowd would be all over Firestarter....
Is #MickGarris busy these days?
Didn't exist until 5 minutes ago and shoe horned into to add to this idea that women as a whole are not responsible for their actions. (It's always someone else, if this/that person would have JUST LISTENED).
Lifelong King fan speaking. Oh...Carrie was the FIRST adult novel I read. This show COULD have stuck the landing, but honestly failed.
@elonmusk So...that means that MILLIONS OF AMERICAN tech workers, engineers, and admins can get AMERICAN JOBS again?
Kiss my 'tistic ass. BTW, how many of these folks you love so much have top 2%%, qualified, Mensa IQs anyway?
Fk 'em.
@Wild_Horse Could be worse...proper sun and I'm a nice reddish brown from head to.....thighs.
From upper thighs to my toes is a nice shade of "The Beacons of Gondor have been lit!".
Thankfully, I'm only white from thighs down....
You are judging American schools and school culture within the lens of Czech and idiot "activist" wannabe celebrities. Good way of life: "NEVER weigh another by your own bushel".
The POINT is that with novel Carrie starting a new school being overweight (read morbidly obese), pimply, ugly, AND her upbringing (weirdness) starting a new school is to highlight that those FICTIONAL classmates would be downright BRUTAL to her.
American high (Primary) schools can be hands down EVIL if you don't fit the model or work within the existing dynamic. Shit, just try being a kid with GLASSES in most schools.
That's only talking YOUR point, not the OP's point.
Perhaps try asking "Why would that be important in context or in the U.S. instead of lashing out like YOU know EVERYTHING about American schools/students.
OPs point (and by extension how the teachers and admin handled it in both novel and show) are bang on right.....WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF AN AMERICAN SCHOOL!
Perhaps have conversations with people instead of assuming you know everything because some talking head ran off at the mouth?
