The greatest tragedy is not that a believer stumbled. The greatest tragedy is rejecting the only One who can save. Salvation has always been in a Person, not in human performance.
So don’t put your confidence in how well you’re holding on to God. Put your confidence in how faithfully God is holding on to you.
He saved you by grace. He keeps you by grace. And His finished work is still enough.
From your brother, Neon Adejo
If God could speak the universe into existence with, “Let there be,” and it still stands today, do you really think He is not powerful enough to keep those who belong to Him?
When you stumble, don’t do what Adam did by hiding from God (Genesis 3:8–10). Run to Him instead. Children don’t stop being children because they fell while learning to walk. They run back to their father, and he lifts them up.
That’s exactly what our heavenly Father does.
The more you behold Him, the more His life is expressed through you (2 Corinthians 3:18). Just as the Israelites looked at the bronze serpent and were healed (Numbers 21:8–9; John 3:14–15), we keep looking to Jesus. The more you see His love, His grace, and His finished work, the more your life is transformed. This is why the Bible says, “It is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).
The Holy Spirit is not living inside you just to occupy space. He is actively working in you, changing your desires, shaping your heart, correcting you, and producing the life of Christ in you.
Notice it doesn’t say you’re trying to become righteous. It says that in Christ, you have become the righteousness of God. The cross happened over two thousand years ago, yet it is still saving people today. If the Lord tarries until 2030, 2050, or beyond, the same blood will still be enough for everyone who believes. That’s how complete His sacrifice is.
So instead of waking up every day wondering if God still loves you, wake up remembering what Christ already did for you. Don’t spend your Christian life being sin-conscious. Be Christ-conscious.
If the sacrifice was acceptable, the worshipper was accepted. That was only a shadow pointing to Jesus.
Today, when you come to God, your confidence is not in how well you’ve behaved this week. Your confidence is in the perfect Lamb who speaks for you. Jesus is the sacrifice God approved once and for all (Hebrews 9:12–14).
The Bible says, “He made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
If a believer commits fraud, steals, or breaks the law, Christ’s forgiveness doesn’t cancel the consequences of that action. The police will still arrest you. The court can still sentence you. You may be forgiven by God, but you could be serving that sentence in prison. Forgiveness before God does not remove earthly responsibility.
Now let’s go deeper.
Under the Old Testament, the people brought spotless animals as sacrifices for sin. The interesting part is this: the priest didn’t inspect the person who brought the sacrifice first, he inspected the sacrifice. Was the lamb without blemish?
Let me explain “ONE SAVED, FOREVER SAVED” as simply as I can.
Jesus died once. That sacrifice was enough. He is not coming back to die again because He already finished the work (Hebrews 10:10–14; John 19:30). Think about that for a moment.
If His sacrifice wasn’t enough to completely save you, then He would have to keep dying every time you sinned. But He doesn’t. Why? Because one perfect sacrifice settled it forever.
Now, does that mean you should go and live anyhow? Of course not. Grace is not permission to sin (Romans 6:1–2). Wrong doing still has consequences.
If salvation is not eternal, then there is no difference between Christianity and every other religion
Jesus is able to save to the uttermost, till the end!
“Being a Christian doesn’t mean you’re better than everyone else. It’s a confession that you’re *no* better than anyone else. That’s why you need Jesus to save you.”
-My pastor this morning
If you are not grounded in the truth, you will be moved by any emotional preaching with strings of keyboard, moved by traditions of men, moved by words sounding very spiritual but not scriptural, moved by popularity, moved by people's favourite man of God, moved by big vocabulary without rightly divided biblical verses.
Stay grounded in the gospel of our Lord Jesus, the gospel of Grace!
James 2:19 and Colossians 1:21-23 are constantly quoted against eternal security, but neither passage teaches that a born again believer can lose salvation.
James 2:19
"You believe there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble."
James is not saying demons have saving faith. Demons believe that God exists and know who Jesus is, yet they remain in rebellion. Their belief is mere acknowledgment, not trust in Christ.
James is confronting people who profess faith but produce no evidence of it. His argument is that a faith that never expresses itself is useless. He is not discussing the loss of salvation.
Paul answers, "How is a man justified before God?" James answers, "How is genuine faith demonstrated?" Different questions. No contradiction.
Colossians 1:21-23
Paul first declares that believers have been reconciled through Christ's death (vv. 21-22). That is an accomplished fact.
Then he says, "if indeed you continue in the faith..."
This is not teaching that salvation hangs by a thread. It is an exhortation to remain grounded in the gospel and a mark of genuine believers, not a denial of the security Christ purchased.
The same Paul who wrote Colossians also wrote that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom. 8:38-39), that Christ loses none of His own (John 10:28-29), and that He who began a good work will complete it (Phil. 1:6).
Neither James 2:19 nor Colossians 1:21-23 teaches that a regenerated believer can become unregenerated.
Read the passages in context. Let Scripture interpret Scripture.
