There are 8 states that automatically send out mail-in ballots to EVERY voter:

▪️Hawaii
▪️Nevada
▪️Oregon

▪️Vermont
▪️Washington

All of them have a mechanism to defeat this (by amendment, statute, or veto), except HI & VT.

Today I've been deep in the guts of something ambitious: a system to cross-check Form 990 data, audit reports, and federal spending to flag when an org’s stated purpose doesn’t match where the money’s actually going. 🕵️‍♂️💸

Here’s how it’s coming together:

1️⃣ Scraped audit metadata by EIN from the Federal Audit Clearinghouse ✅
2️⃣ Pulled all audit PDFs for every tax year ✅
3️⃣ Extracted Program III, Schedule O, and mission statements from 990s ✅
4️⃣ Identified all candidate FAINs from those audits ✅
5️⃣ Matching real award IDs in the USASpending database via UEIs/FAINs (tonight)
6️⃣ Using AI to surface discrepancies between award descriptions and 990 claims (tomorrow)
7️⃣ Publishing the tool (also tomorrow) 🚀

We’ve already spot-checked a few orgs where the federal grant descriptions either don’t match anything in the 990… or wildly exceed what the org claims to have done.

This might be the first large-scale "hey, here's where DOGE should dig deeper" tool.
