India's attempt to dictate Friday sermons in Kashmir is not an isolated overreach but part of a decades-long effort to control how Kashmiri Muslims practise their faith, suppress dissent and determine what can be said from the pulpit.

A proposed move by the Waqf Board in Indian-administered Kashmir to introduce uniform Friday sermons at mosques has drawn backlash from politicians and religious leaders, who accused the gov't of trying to assert control over Muslim religious spaces.

Kashmir was never inherently a Hindu/Sanatan land. For that matter, no land can be inherently Hindu. Buddhism was the first major religion to gain prominence in the region. Archaeological findings point to the distinct belief systems and burial practices of its earliest 1/2

I don't see any epidemic of dead eyes in Delhi, enforced disappreances, extrajudical killings, fake encounters, Kunan-Poshpora, any setups like Papa 2 & PSA's & UAPA's ready to frame students. Nor did i see any pattern of teenage killing. Wtf is it Kashmirisation of Delhi/India?

Kashmir’s fly-fishing enthusiast on the art of fly tying and protecting trout streams
Sheikh Tahir Rehman, from Mujgund on the outskirts of Srinagar, has been fly fishing for trout for more than two decades.
Fly fishing uses artificial flies that imitate insects trout feed on, while fly tying is the craft of making those flies using feathers, fur, thread and wire.
As illegal fishing puts pressure on Kashmir’s streams, Tahir believes fly tying can encourage young people to fish responsibly, understand the ecosystem and learn a skill.
In this feature, Tahir demonstrates how he makes an artificial fly and shares his passion for the craft and Kashmir’s trout streams.
