When I lived out east,I loved the leaves’ bright colors against the backdrop of crisp blue sky. Now that I live in the northwest, I am equally in awe of autumn’s beauty, shining through the rain like a candle in a cloud.This lovely is showing her fall colors off on a rainy day!

A polka dotted zebra! This beautiful zebra foal was just recently discovered and is “melanistic”, just like the black jaguar. That means there’s more dark pigment in the coat, and in this case - it manifested as polka dots!
What an incredible little zebra!

It’s international bat day & I wanted to share this photo of a beautiful bat being fed after being rescued. Little known to many, bats play a hugely important role in our ecosystems by being incredible predators of insects - especially those that come out at night like mosquitos!

This is the Green-crowned Brilliant Hummingbird- one of the largest species of hummingbirds on the planet. Unlike most hummingbirds, it doesn’t hover - it actually perches while feeding. Happy St Patrick’s Day!
