"Pink" Stars
This is a composite image of the Westerlund 2 star cluster, located approximately 20,000 light-years away. The image combines data from two observatories: X-ray data from the Chandra telescope is shown in pink, while all other colors represent infrared data from the James Webb telescope.
Intense X-ray radiation emanates from young stars aged 1 to 3 million years. The cluster of material lower in the frame, shown in orange, is the matter from which such stars form.
Ever wondered what a medieval kitchen looked like?
This is the kitchen at Gainsborough Old Hall in England, one of the most complete medieval kitchens to survive
It still retains its original fireplaces, each large enough to roast an entire ox, as well as two bread ovens served by a third chimney.
Vincent van Gogh accidentally solved a complex physics problem while inside an asylum.
In 2004, scientists analyzed The Starry Night, they found something magical.
His swirling brushstrokes perfectly match Kolmogorov’s formula for fluid turbulence. This formula describes how energy flows through the universe. Physicists of his time could not prove it, Van Gogh did it with paint.
Through pure intuition during severe psychosis, Van Gogh’s brush captured the universe's invisible, chaotic geometry.
