@LateRoundQB I agree with you on the strategy is out the window concept in a Superflex draft. I’ve played in a lot of types of leagues over the years, and I think Superflex is the GOAT format because of the chaos and emphasis on the actual superstars of the game

Did last night help any of you find any closure? I fear that it was merely gas on the fire for me.
I now doubt that I will ever fully understand how we traded a 25-year old global icon. Dude is a one-of-one. A cold-blooded killer who rises to the occasion. A sweet young kid with a heart of gold chasing a dream in a foreign land.
A trick shot god. A basketball warlock who makes the impossible routine. Unguardable. The bigger the moment, the bigger the coconuts. Neo in the Matrix. Luke Skywalker. You don’t trade that, you build a franchise around that. The whole city thrives on that. You own the globe with that — potentially for two decades.
I honestly don’t believe I’ll ever fully be able to process this. It’s not getting better with time. I don’t even really know what to compare it to. Maybe it would be like the Cowboys trading Troy, Emmitt, Michael, recently acquired DE Charles Haley AND Jimmy Johnson for 30-yr old Bruce Smith in 1992.
There’s literally nothing like it. Ever. In the history of sports. Maybe in the history of the word “trade”.
Anyone have any suggestion of how to get over this and move on? If so, please notify the elite team of therapists working around the clock to restore my inner soul. I love you all.
PS — wishing Kyrie the speediest recovery ever. I love that dude with all my heart. Good talk. See you out there.
I can’t bite my tongue anymore.
The way the Dallas Mavericks organization has acted since the trade has been disgusting, disrespectful, immature and unprofessional.
Dorrough? Awesome.
Sean Heath? The man.
Putting up a hype video that was shot for the playoff run last year before regular season game 57 while sitting in the 8th seed, and going out of your way to use an elementary level video edit to take out Luka Dončić is so, so embarrassing and petty.
Couple that with a shirt being released at tonight’s game with the slogan, “Ride till Death Do Us Part” is insane. I understand the shirt is part of collab, and was agreed to months in advance. Given the circumstances, you simply pay the brand for those shirts, and you scrap them from the release.
Did the Mavs have blemishes with the past regime? More than a few, but they always tried to find a way to make it right, or at the very least limit the damage.
With this new regime, somehow, someway, they continue to dig theirselves into a PR hole.
The reality is, the Mavericks have 3 outsiders in charge of running the organization now. They haven’t been here, they don’t know the culture, and most importantly, they do not care about the fans.
I refuse to believe there are employees in the organization that don’t see the PR nightmare we are watching before our eyes. My fear is that they are scared for their jobs and afraid to say “maybe that’s not a good idea.”
We saw a glimpse of this with how the Mavs treated fans after the trade by kicking fans out if any non - Mavs positive views were expressed. If the fans are getting that treatment, I can’t imagine what the employees are going through.
An idea for the Mavs, although highly unlikely due to egos, would be to make a Mavs small council. The council would be made up of 10 - 20 fans that went through an application process. You would not be an employee of the team, but rather a voice outside the org that can speak freely about the pulse of the fan base. Any moves involving the roster would not be a topic, but anything having to do with media releases, and how fans may receive it would be the main job of the council. These would not be “yes” men/women.
Tonight’s game? Flexed out of a national tv spot. Christmas Day games going forward? Unless against the Lakers, probably not a thing anymore. Season ticket prices? Likely to go up again after a substantial increase in price last year with less perks and a smaller merch discount.
it’s safe to say the MFFL era, an era that was not perfect, but provided a great experience most of the time, is dead.
