This whole idea that "I don’t owe anyone anything" feels like it’s become a default defense mechanism, and honestly, it’s a huge part of why building healthy relationships has become so difficult. We’ve shifted into this hyper-individualistic mindset, where everyone’s focused on protecting themselves and their energy, but in doing so, we’ve lost sight of the responsibility we hold in our interactions with others.
The truth is, we do owe people something—whether it’s an apology when we’ve hurt them, gratitude for their support, or respect when we’ve disrespected them. This isn’t about losing yourself or constantly bending over backward for others, but about basic human decency and accountability. Being accountable isn’t a weakness; it’s a strength. It shows maturity, integrity, and an understanding that our actions, even the small ones, have ripples in the lives of those around us.
We’re never going to heal, grow, or build genuine connections if we keep acting like our actions exist in a vacuum. Part of living in a society, part of being human, is recognizing that we’re all connected, and that means our choices affect others. Accountability isn’t just about admitting when we’ve messed up—it’s about acknowledging that we’re responsible for the way we move through the world and the impact we have on the people in it.
If we ever want to get to a place where relationships—friendships, family, romantic, whatever—are actually healthy and fulfilling, we’ve got to start with accountability. It’s the foundation. Without it, we’re just living in a constant state of denial, pushing people away and wondering why nothing feels real anymore. We owe it to each other—and ourselves—to do better.
this generation doesn’t know how to build healthy relationships.. we end up saying stuff like “i don’t owe anyone anything.” you do owe people something. you owe those you offended an apology. you owe those who gave you support, gratitude (1/2)
Was explaining to someone that men don’t have to touch women’s waists when they’re tying to get by them in crowded places. He went on to say “it’s not that serious” I said “Do you touch other men’s waists when you tryna get by?” He looked at me crazy. I said EXACTLY.
@claaaarke_ Also, search your area and see if you can find a good beautician who does natural looking sew-ins w/closures. Look at their business page to see photos/videos of their work so you know what expect and get the best experience.
@claaaarke_ You should get you a sew-in with a closure for sure to do a good test run to see if you like it. A good hair company, that has great quality bundles/closures is https://t.co/MGNhJJvCsX
@em_Lazzy No employer will give you any loyalty and you will be replaced. Stop thinking that giving 100% all the time, while neglecting your personal life and goals will lead to some reward.
@em_Lazzy Being great at your job will work against you. Management will feel threatened by you, extra work be assigned that they don’t trust your coworkers to do, and customers will bypass other workers to request you specifically because they love you do it
@em_Lazzy people are often placed into leadership/management positions but aren’t actually good leaders and don’t know how to manage people. as a leader, you HAVE to listen to the people who are following your lead and be able to implement their feedback. otherwise, its just a dictatorship
25 yr old pizza delivery man runs into burning house, saves four children who tell him another might be in the house. He goes back in, finds the girl, jumps out a window with her, and carries her to a cop who captures the moment on his bodycam.
Please give your reserved friends grace at the functions. Nothing is wrong, I am enjoying myself, not everyone is a hyperactive performer in social settings
for me, consideration is the purest kind of love. when someone considers how something would make you feel. when they pays attention even to small details. considers you when making decisions that may effect you.
Im gonna let y’all in on a secret.. I PICK UP VIBES EVEN WHEN I DONT WANT TO. I notice when a friend isn’t really my friend. I notice when someone feels a certain way about me. I can tell who had what type of conversation with who and about what! I know when somebody is trying to
