I am shocked and saddened by the nationwide incidents that killed at least six students and injured thousands by gunfire and sharp weapons wielded by the terrorists of the Awami League and law enforcement agencies. Students from various educational institutions across the country are protesting for the reform of the 56% quota system in Bangladesh's employment sector, demanding fair and equal opportunities based on meritocracy.

The barbaric Sheikh Hasina regime, illegally seizing state power through sham elections, has once again proven that there is no space for innocent students to express their legitimate demands, let alone for opposition political opinions.

I pray for the peace of the souls of those who were killed, for the quick recovery of the injured, and beg Allah to grant the families of the victims the strength to endure this grief and pain. I call upon everyone, regardless of party affiliation, to unite against the atrocities of this illegal government.

একটা উদাহরণ দেই - লিমনের পা এর উদাহরণ!

লিমনের পা!

আমরা সবাই পন্ডিত মশাই আর সাহেবের তিন পা ওয়ালা কুকুরের গল্প পড়েছি - সাহেবের কুকুরে��� এক পায়ের জন্য যে অর্থ বরাদ্দ ছিল - পন্ডিত মশায়ের ছয়জনের পরিবার এর মাসিক আর্থিক বরাদ্দ ছিল এর চেয়ে অনেক কম!

এই ঘটনার এইযুগের কম্পারেবল হতে পারে লিমনের পা! লিমন তার পা হারিয়েছিল ৱ্যাবের গুলিতে! প্রথম আলো লিমন এর ঘটনাটা হাইলাইট করে - এবং লিমন কে নিয়ে দিনের পর দিন সপ্তাহের পর সপ্তাহ নিউজ কর��� প্রথম পাতায়! মাস কি বছরান্তেও প্রথম এল এই কভারেজ চালিয়ে যায়! লিমন পা হারিয়েছে - তারপর ও সে কিছুটা ভাগ্যবান কারণ ওর বিএনপি বা ইসলামী রাজনীতির কালার ছিল না! লিমন যে সময়ে পা হারিয়েছে সেই একই সময়ে একই অঞ্চলে একই দেশে অন্তত পক্ষে পঞ্চাশজন বি এন পি অথবা ইসলামী রাজনৈতিক দলের কর্মী প্রাণ হারিয়েছে ৱ্যাবের হাতে! পয়েন্ট ব্ল্যাঙ্ক পায়ে গুলি চালানো হয়েছে এ সংখ্যা অগুনতি! কিন্তু ওই অধশতক ঝ��ে পড়া জীবন প্রথম আলো তে লিমনের এক পায়ের একসহস্রংশ ও কভারেজ পায় নি! প্রথম আলোর কভারেজ অনুযায়ী পঞ্চাশ জন বিএনপি কর্মীর জীবন লিমনের এক পায়ের সমান মূল্য পায় না!

এই ভাবে ডিহিউমেনাইজ হতে হতে ঢাকার বা জেল উপজেলা পর্যায়ের এডুকেটেড ক্লাশ এখন আর বিএনপিকে কোন রাজনৈতিক দল মনে করে না - বিএনপির ডাকে রাস্তায় নাম না!

নিজেদের কে মানুষ হিসেবে আবার দাঁড় করানোর কাজ বিএনপিকেই করতে হবে! এভাবেই তারা শুরু করতে পারে - হাজার হাজার ছেলে যে মারা গিয়েছে, উধাও হয়ে গিয়েছে, গ্রামছাড়া হয়েছে, অঙ্গ হারিয়েছে - ওদের গল্পগুলো বলা শুরু করতে পারে! শেখ হাসিনা তার মৃত বাবার গল্প বলেই এতদূর এসেছে!

কিন্তু এসব গল্প বলার জন্য প্রথম আলোর যে হেজেমনি তাকেই কোঅপ্ট করতে হবে - দেশের শিক্ষিত মধ্যবিত্তের ওপিনিয়ন ক্রিয়েট করার জন্য ওদের প্যারালাল কোনো স্টোরিটেলার এখনো গড়ে ওঠে নি!

In an election marred by irregularities in every possible way, and rejected by the people of Bangladesh barring only the staunch AL activists, we need to look no further than Sheikh Hasina’s own constituency, Gopalganj-3. The chaotic and desperate attempt to elect Hasina at any cost set the tone for all 300 constituencies.

As reported by the Presiding Officer of Pashchim Unashiya Primary School centre, an extraordinary 100% of the votes were shown as cast and Hasina received 99.72% of the valid votes. In Barshapara Primary School centre, 92.7% voter turnout was shown by the Presiding Officer, with Hasina bagging 100% of the votes. Overall, Hasina obtained 86% of the total votes in Gopalganj-3, contributing to a near 90% turnout. Just like me, nobody in Bangladesh would believe these fabricated statistics!

Sheikh Hasina’s manipulated win, despite having no real opposition, highlights widespread concerns about the entire electoral process, eroding the foundation of democratic principles. Her so-called win symbolises the pattern across all 300 constituencies, and on a broader picture, is an example of the illegality and illegitimacy of the regime.

In a ‘dummy election’ with ‘predetermined selection’ in every constituency, which the pro-democracy people and political parties have boycotted, Awami League continues to escalate intra-party clashes and confrontations. This proves again, with or without political opposition or public participation, Awami League is a party of violence. I also condemn state-sponsored arson attacks, and call upon all stakeholders, in home and abroad, to be vigilant about these sabotages.

As Bangladesh celebrates 53rd Victory Day, our quest for the spirit of liberation war continues. We strive for a democratic Bangladesh rooted in equality, human dignity, and social justice. I read the entire article you provided where this heinous crime is listed and nowhere it is written the breast was cut off, you made that up. The article also said this particular rape witness was a single women, around whom another women gave her testimony, but she didn’t witness any rape. Sounds like a women has cooked this rape story and you are propagating the story without ant real proof.

You are insulting the real victims from October 7th by propagating unproven incidents on their names. Shame on you!
