ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਫੇਰੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅੱਜ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ @BhagwantMann ਨਾਲ 1158 ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨ ਫ਼ਰੰਟ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਟਾਲਮਟੋਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਖ਼ਿਰਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਗੈਰ-ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰਾਨਾ ਰਵੱਈਏ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ 1158 ਫ਼ਰੰਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਕਾਰਨ 1158 ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਤੀ ਰੱਦ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਯੋਗ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਅਣਿਸ਼ਚਿਤਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਸੰਕਟ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਮਸਲੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮੁੱ�� ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਬਿਆਨ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ।
ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ @AamAadmiParty ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਚੇਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੀ 1158 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦ���ਆਂ ਹੱਕੀ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਾਗੀ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਖੱਜਲ-ਖੁਆਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਦਲਾਖ਼ੋਰੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

In 2022, after becoming Punjab’s Education Minister, @meet_hayer Hayer shifted stance—dismissing pre-election promises as “Congress-era recruitment issues” stuck in court. But let’s not forget:

In 2021, #1158AssistantProfessorAndLibrarians were recruited on merit with transperancy. Selected candidates formed the “1158 Assistant Professor & Librarians Front” to demand rightful appointments.

Before 2022 elections, AAP leaders—including CM @BhagwantMann & MLAs—promised to resolve this on priority, protect the 1158 recruitment in court and appoint candidates to revive govt colleges suffering from a 25-year hiring drought.

Reality after coming to power? Peaceful protesting Professors outside Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer ’s residence faced brutal lathi-charge. Gold medalists beaten. A disabled candidate assaulted—fingers, ankel broken. This exposed the harsh truth of @AamAadmiParty.

Punjab’s govt colleges still lack regular faculty. Institutions are running on students’ fees & PTA funds, even paying teacher salaries from them. Is this the “education revolution”?

In 4 years, not a single regular new teacher recruitment advertisement for schools or colleges.

Claims of “12,000 teachers regularized”?
In reality, salaries raised from ₹6000 to ₹18000—still far below ~₹50000 of regular teachers. A cruel compromise, not justice.

This isn’t governance—it’s betrayal of educated youth, erosion of public education and broken promises. Punjab deserves accountability.

Aam Aadmi Party’s ‘#SikhyaKranti’: New Labels, Old Neglect in the Politics of Education Revolution”

Rebranding without reform is not change—it’s repetition with better PR.

From Adarsh Schools (Captain govt) to Meritorious Schools (Badal govt) to now “Schools of Eminence” under Bhagwant Mann, the promise was “different politics.” The reality remains the same: not one of these models has been backed by permanent teacher recruitment.
While @harjotbains and the CM @BhagwantMann frequently highlight NEET/JEE successes, those results largely come from Meritorious Schools—where the very teachers delivering them have waited over 4 years for regularization, with repeated assurances but no policy. Despite being chairman of the governing body, the CM Bhagwant Mann has not held even a single meeting with the Meritorious Teachers’ Union @MTU_PUNJAB

“Schools of Eminence” appear to be more about repainting and renaming, while teachers are simply shifted from other schools—no new posts created, no fresh recruitment.

The implied model: shut down many schools, selectively upgrade a few, and market them as an “Education Revolution.”

Ground reality: out of approximately 1950 government senior secondary schools in Punjab, over 1000 operate without principals.
In Sangrur alone, the CM Bhagwant Mann’s own district, 65 of 95 schools function without a principal.

If this is a “Sikhya Kranti,” it is one of presentation—not policy.
