@Eddie753@LawyerGatMAREJD@jbarro My resistance is firmly rooted in my hatred of dragging myself out of bed in the dark to go to work. Telling me that in the winter, instead of getting up at 6 to get ready and commute to work at 8 you can get up at 5 to get there an hour earlier isn’t winning me over.
New: The intelligence community, FBI and CISA confirm that this fake video claiming to show Haitian migrants illegally voting multiple times in Georgia was manufactured by Russian actors seeking to undermine confidence in the U.S. election. @CBSNews
@MelHarman @BillKristol Former R, raised to vilify Nancy. My respect for her has grown every year since 2016, enough so that at 7:50 on a rainy election night after a busy day, part of my motivation to run over to my polling place was increasing her margin by 1.
@JenniferSey Remember how enraging it was to be accused of being a racist grandma killer for wanting what was best for kids?
I do. I was against school closures and I’m against glorifying the people who did this out of righteous anger.
@peneme@Kathryn78917961 @john_kernodle @Lidsville Mocking people like us (yes, more bunchofnumbers) is how VA wound up with an R gov. Please stop. Or is that your goal?!?
I think turning R now is short sided but it is infuriating that our concerns as parents were dismissed & it drives people away.
“The GOP is salivating over the prospect of taking control of the House, not because of their power to legislate but because of their power to harass President Biden though endless congressional investigations.” Deny sadists that pleasure: Vote Democratic

We have two parties.
One is anti-democracy, anti-truth, and anti-rule of law.
The other is sometimes inept and foolish, with some fringe illiberal elements--but basically committed to the institutions and norms of liberal democracy and a free society.
It's not a tough choice.
What DeSantis is doing here may be the most cynical, antidemocratic, & nakedly destructive of people’s lives maneuvers I can think in recent US politics. Beyond any politics, it’s just so horrible & tragic to these people. https://t.co/HK8E7jqrAi
What kind of fucked up cult of stupids sends a million dollars a day in donations to a self-professed billionaire because he got caught stealing national security secrets?
Some of y’all need to understand there is going to be a coordinated attack on Joe Biden from now until midterms. The goal will be to cause Dems to stay home in Nov.
Some of y’all are doing the work for Republicans.
Don’t like Biden? Cool. I doubt you will like Desantis more.
@schmangee@bicoastal2021@moseskagan It DIDN’T, why not it DOESN’T? Why can’t we be mad about school closures AND J6 AND gun control and police brutality and decide that on balance a red wave might not be the best solution?
@schmangee@bicoastal2021@moseskagan School closures were a DISASTER. The fact it has turned so many people into single issue voters happy to give the middle finger to anyone who isn’t a middle class white family by voting red is it’s own kind of irony.
@NickyFrank30@TheEliKlein Fingers crossed you are right!
A quick scan of the “I’m now politically homeless” crowd has turned up more tweets about masks than yet another school shooting which depresses me in multiple ways.
Glad to have found what I consider another sane soul however!
@NickyFrank30@TheEliKlein I think you are too optimistic. School closures created a bunch of single issue voters.
I often feel like the only one here who thinks closures AND J6 were outrageously bad.
I’m more worried about my kids growing up in an autocracy than punishing Teachers Unions.
@lcwhitlock14 Louise! I can’t tell you how this warms my heart. I am distressed at the myopic view of some of our fellow anti-closure/sfusd folks. Does that make sense?
Your tweet gave this lurker an odd sense of hope this am!
It should be a wow. The wife of a SCOTUS Justice committing sedition should be a big wow. But think of all the other wows we’ve had that weren’t. January 6th should’ve been a big wow, but wasn’t.
Either a majority of Americans want to save our democracy or they don’t. Period.
