Sometimes I think I'm one of those people who was meant to be awake at night while the rest of the tribe slept so I could keep an eye out for sabertooth tigers. But unfortunately the window of time my brain gets sleepy in is anti-social and inconvenient in modern life
In my mind bunnies only think in stock stealth game voice lines from patrolling enemies. "What was that?" "Just checking this out!" "Must have been the wind..." stuff of that nature.
god everybody is so anti-solidarity now. they want their pain to be unique and without comparison as if that makes their suffering special and virtuous. we are all so much more alike than we are different. it’s no wonder there’s a loneliness crisis, what an isolating way to live.
@AnaAerospace@animal2you To clarify I completely agree that DIY is a good option for a lot of people, and I'm not about to discourage anyone from making that choice. I THINK DIY IS A NET POSITIVE FOR THE TRANS COMMUNITY.
It just happened to make *me* feel paranoid and stressed which is my own issue 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@AnaAerospace@animal2you I didn't? I brought up DIY only as an explanation why for *me specifically* it wasn't ideal to answer the inevitable comments telling me to just DIY.
I'm in full support of people DIYing and think it's a great option for many people, I just have my own hangups
@CRXSSF4DE@animal2you We have NHS gender clinics but the waitlists are ridiculous and most people wait years for their first appointment (I was referred in 2017)
So a lot of people choose to go private if they can afford it cuz there's no guarantee the NHS will actually be of any help
@AnaAerospace@animal2you I'm a very anxious person. I appreciate that it's the same thing only cheaper but it was hard for me to trust anonymous internet strangers with the stuff I inject into my body
I tried it, it made me feel too paranoid, so I stopped.
@animal2you "just DIY" is a valid point, and its a lot more affordable. But i understand the hesitancy. As someone who did DIY for a while I found it to be a bit intimidating and the process made me pretty paranoid and stressed out. I get why others might prefer to wait for a gender clinic
@animal2you The most money I've spent on a piercing was £80 (my angel fangs) and that was a one time payment
My HRT setup was over triple that, plus £35 per month, £24 per prescription and £50 per blood test. Not affordable to a lot of trans ppl
