India has the among the lowest data prices in the world. It is so good that I don't even bother to connect to local Wifi when I travel in India and just tether my phone to work on my computer. Indians routinely have dual SIM phones with large data plans because they are so affordable. Ambani's launch of Jio is directly responsible for the low data prices Indians enjoy.
India has among the lowest drug prices in the world (and going lower still). People who visit India buy medicines to take home quite regularly now.
India has among the lowest cost payment systems in the world in UPI.
On the other hand, Tesla is protected from Chinese competition in the US market, keeping EV prices higher in America than elsewhere.
Prime Minister Modi has worked hard to create a competitive economy where the benefits flow to the average Indian. His government does not tolerate monopolies. He has also actively promoted and encouraged a massive surge in startups and that is the best signal of a highly competitive economy.
Directly due to Modi government policy, Indian startups are making major advances in low cost rockets and that poses a threat to SpaceX the same say the Chinese EVs threaten Tesla.
These are the facts Elon.
They will soon also post "Modi haar gaye, Elon ke samne juk gaye" when news of a technical approval of Starlink comes. Which MEITY or even PMO can't override now because they are already in the last stages of getting approved, along with Jio and Airtel's services.
The amplification of this is being done now exactly for this. There's no reason for Elon to start doing this now and RG to engage with it other than a psyop to rile up and disillusion Modi's base and help opposition when the news breaks.
@aravind I remember PM Narendra Modi also said something similar related to i guess regulated or controlled use of Internet recently. Just can't find it.
@aravind@GenZKaoboy They are loosing their patience. One after another, whatever they try, they fail. Making them desperate to act before next elections.
@prakdadlani Unfortunately, BYD is being blocked by certain oligarchs in order to maintain their monopolistic chokehold on the American people. You can guess who they are …
This is a crime against the people of America!
Trump will soon hit India’s IT industry.
May be with duties, fines, and/or visa restrictions etc. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant must brace for it.
However, it is the employees of these IT companies, which have billions of dollars in cash but never invest in innovation and quality products, are likely to suffer the most.
These companies will likely resort to layoffs in India and reduced pays to “save money.”
In essence, these companies are indirectly working for the US to harm India’s economy and government. This is what Trump would want them to do by hitting them to attack Modi.
It is crucial that the GoI takes these companies to task if they behave in this manner.
The GoI should force these companies to use their idle cash to invest in startup funds, conduct research at universities, or develop new products to compete with American products.
I hope that the Trump tariff war will help our Indian IT companies change their useless behavior and prepare to compete with US tech giants.
This will not only benefit India but also foster its growth in tech self-reliance.
@aravind@sidhant I agree. Doesn't matter how much we get angry of try to deny entry of Starlink in India, eventually they will get the approval (Hopefully on GOIs terms & conditions). And it create a divide between current Govt. & It's voters. That's how they wanna destabilize the Govt.
Starlink, along with Jio SES and Airtel OneWeb are already in last stages of approval by GoI. What both gentlemen are doing is inciting Indians first, and when news of technical approval comes (need not be functionally approved), call it as "Modi succumbed" to disillusion the base and give ammo to the opposition. Guess where both have MoUs with, and whom they always appreciate?
Indians must see more & more posts on SM that talk about "bad internet in India" and "why India needs Starlink."
There is also a possibility of actual disruptions of net services to try push the discomfort levels and public pressure for Starlink.
Since my attached post in 2024, India started considering allowing Starlink so everything was good.
But now that this consideration has been suspended, the psyops and disillusionment through disruption ops will restart.

See my post from Jun 10. See what's happening now.
All of a sudden so many India based accounts (some that joined X in Oct 2026) are preaching Indians to get Starlink in India citing "bad internet."
