The Indian Express has shared the data. Between March and July 2026, nearly 1.95 lakh blocking orders went to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. That's around 1,275 every single day. One every 68 seconds.

A year earlier, the same Home Ministry portal sent about 6 orders a day. Six.
One order can cover hundreds of posts and accounts. Meta has plugged its system straight into the Home Ministry's portal, so flagged posts can disappear without any human even reviewing them.

Today it's a meme, tomorrow it could be your son's complaint about a paper leak or your post about corruption.
