It's been a productive weekend on site. We've filled lots of pot holes along the lane, renewed the roof over our lockups to keep them going for a few more years. Did some painting & made a start on renewing the seating around the campfire circle.
Important Update
The Centre and site is now closed, but rest assured we will be back soon.
The closure is expected to last up to April 21st 2025 to allow for internal building works to be completed.
If you've wandered through the left hand woods lately, you may have seen a partial wooden structure.
Today, our new forest shelter has been finished by members of our site service team.
๐คthat it proves a useful asset for the many groups that visit us especially forest schools.
Giving the lane some much needed love and attention this afternoon.
Still a fair bit to do as some of the holes have got quite large, but at least a small section will be little kinder on the vehicles, for now.
We all just want to say a huge thank you to one of the leaders from @ReiversDistrict, who has spent his spare time this week clearing grass and weeds from our campfire area, to get it ready for visitors he even had time to try it out with his own group.
Another successful but very hot work weekend. Everyones help on site this weekend was very much appreciated and helps us get the site where we want it to be.

Morning from us at Ratlingate, we've got a local scout group on site today.
They're making the most of the open space for social distanced activities.
It's nice to have groups on site once again, it has definitely been a bit quiet without you all!!
Our friends at @WatchtreeNR are running a 100 Miles Active Challenge, to raise funds for the reserve.

@ReiversDistrict & @CumbriaScouts could you share the info too.
One of @ReiversDistrict Ayers explorer leaders wanted to get a very unique gift commissioned for his grandad.
A painting of the old wooden hut, that many people will have memories of, has been re-created from an old photograph.
We think it looks fantastic.
Following guidance from @UKScouting all #CumbriaScouts face-to-face meetings, activities and events will be suspended from tomorrow (17/03/20). This applies to young people and adult volunteers. We are working hard to provide remote scouting opportunities, more updates to follow
