The first one of 2025! This time we explore 'PE at #TeamRatton'.
Our new #Blog explores this curricular area, our extensive and ever-popular extra-curricular offering, our highly regarded #SportsLeadership programme, some of our elite sportsmen/women in the making, as well as hearing from one of our previous (#alumni) students.
A huge WELL DONE to our students (particularly Oliver and Amber, who got really stuck in with the organisations and efforts to raise awareness of the event and its purpose! Good job), you all shone!
APRIL NEWS : STUDENT SHOUT-OUT & FUNDRAISER PUSH - PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS!
A huge WELL DONE to our #TeamRatton Performing Arts students who took part in last night's fundraiser, ready for the National School Theatre Awards later next term!
Our learners did themselves proud, their performances were enjoyed hugely by the audience and, incredibly, this student-led event raised - a whopping - £1,050! Wowee.

Our Sports Leaders have two big local primary school events this term, one that will focus on multi skills at a local feeder school, and another that will be tennis focused!
#TeamYear9 will enjoy a mentoring and motivational talk as part of our extensive careers programme.
#TermHighlights include :-
Years 7 & 8 parents evenings, a chance to reflect on learner achievements and meet with our teaching team
#TeamYear11 will begin their GCSEs this term, they have worked hard this year and we wish them all the very best during this time.
TERM 5 - WELCOME BACK!
As we near the end of the first week of this term #Term5, we want to welcome our staff and students back after their Easter break.
We have a busy term ahead, with lots of curricular and non-curricular activities planned over the coming weeks.
Remember, good attendance contributes to optimal achievements. #MomentsMatter!

APRIL NEWS : HIGH ACHIEVERS SHOUT OUT!
A big shout out to our top scoring achievement point students for the end of last term, you guys are amazing! Well done to you all and all those that have been our high achievers during #Term4!
We're proud of all our students here at #TeamRatton but like to recognise those that are going above and beyond. We run different incentives across the school to reward our students, to further encourage their efforts and hard work.
A huge THANK YOU to Gareth and the team at Treebourne who continue to support our family of schools here at South Downs Learning Trust, and we are hugely grateful to them and the project. Keep up the fantastic work and thank you, always, for the support.
APRIL NEWS : COMMUNITY CHAMPION SHOUT-OUT - TREEBOURNE!
We wanted to give a big shout-out and words of thanks to our friends, and #CharityChampions across South Downs Learning Trust, Treebourne!
Gareth attended #TeamRatton over the Easter holiday period with volunteers and sponsors Edwards Vacuum of the #GoGreen project, where they were continuing to attend to our pear blossom trees at the front of school, ready for our students and staff to return to school.
APRIL NEWS : STAFF EASTER CHARITY CARD 2025!
This year, our staff raised £110 as part of their #Easter staff charity card fundraiser. The total will be split between two of our #CharityChampions : Children With Cancer Fund and St Wilfrid's Hospice Eastbourne.
Great job!
All in all a thought-provoking afternoon, where our two students represented #TeamRatton with respect and demonstrable in our school virtues. Well done to them.
END OF TERM 4 NEWS : EASTBOURNE CIVIC PRAYER BREAKFAST - YEAR 10!
At the end of last term, two of brilliant #TeamYear10 learners, Deborah O and Christian A along with Mrs Michael, attended the Eastbourne Civic Prayer Breakfast at the Winter Gardens.
After contributions from Josh Babarinde and our friends and Eastbourne Foodbank (who provide over 200,000 meals every year in Eastbourne. Main speaker was Natalie Williams who heads up Jubilee Plus, a charity that equips churches to help people out of poverty.
