LOOK: Former Senator Antonio Trillanes on Tuesday, July 28, shared a copy of a Department of Justice resolution recommending the filing of cyberlibel charges against Atty. Levi Baligod and the 18 former bodyguards of fugitive Zaldy Co.

The recommendations appear to stem from the respondents' joint affidavit dated February 23, the Club Manila press conference on February 24, where Baligod presented the witnesses, and their subsequent Facebook posts.

Nadiskubre ng National Bureau of Investigation na may group chat ang mga person of interest sa serye ng death threats laban kay Senador Risa Hontiveros.

Ayon kay NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag, maaaring ipa-subpoena ng Cybercrime Division ang mga POI na natukoy sa kanilang imbestigasyon.

Idiniin niya na lumilikha ito ng pattern na parang madaling manakot sa social media.

Sabi pa ni Matibag, may mga POI din sila na nag-post na isunod sa political vlogger na si Mima Alicia, ang ilang personalidad kabilang ang Pangulo.

Nagpapatuloy aniya ang imbestigasyon dito ng bureau.

Sen. Ping Lacson said he and his staff have turned over to the Office of the Ombudsman documentary and testimonial evidence they gathered on alleged anomalies in flood control for further evaluation and a motu proprio investigation.

Lacson said they are looking at cases of plunder, malversation, violations of the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (RA 3019), among others.

In a post on X, the senator also flagged alleged irregularities in infrastructure projects in Taguig, including supposed illegal reclamation presented as slope protection structures, ghost projects, double appropriations, and the use of recycled photos from completed projects to bill for new contracts.

Lacson further alleged that all these are being controlled by one person.

“We hope the excellent research and investigative work that my staff did in this regard won’t be wasted and will contribute to the Ombudsman’s efforts to expedite their investigation,” he said.

Akbayan Party-list on Saturday, July 25, criticized Sen. Pia Cayetano over a Facebook video she posted a day earlier featuring House prosecutor Rep. Chel Diokno's exchange with her brother, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, during the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

In a statement on X, Akbayan alleged that the clip was a "spliced video" and accused Cayetano of misrepresenting the exchange.

"Ang abogadong may argumentong pilipit, sa spliced video kumakapit. Dahil nasoplak ni Akbayan Rep. Chel Diokno ang magkapatid na senator-judge, pilit nilang binabaluktot ang kwento. Ang sad, noh? Move on na po. Better luck next time. 'That's just how it is,'" the party said.

Akbayan also questioned Cayetano's conduct as a senator-judge, adding: "Pero ang mas nakakalungkot, ganito ang content ng isang senator-judge. Linyang-linya sa kampo ni Sara.”
