Abt Raul’s participation in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE 2013 (GJC) audition at age 10.

GJC 2013 was the first edition of the project. Raul passed the online audition and moved on to the in person audition, where he competed among 64 dance-focused contestants. He made it through three rounds and reached the final round and then being rejected.

GJC was a joint project by LDH and Avex to find talented kids aged 9->15. The selected trainees would spend three and a half years training in New York in English, dance, vocals, and hip hop culture, with the goal of becoming globally active artists. There were two categories: vocalists and performers.

The audition started with video submissions on Oct 30, 2013, and 34 vocalists and 64 dancers were chosen for the in person auditions on Dec 23. The final 15, most of them were all highly skilled talents from EXPG. So even though Raul didn’t make the final cut, making it that far at just 10 years old already says a lot about how talented he was.

The story Raul posted came after BUMPY’s Mini Crew preliminary round. Go back and watch the livestream from that day. Don’t u see these otaku waving idol uchiwa at a dance competition, not an idol event? At HHI, Raul was there as a BUMPY member and competitor, not as a celebrity who should receive special treatment over other dancers.

While he was quietly waiting for the results, several otaku approached him and tried to talk to him.

You guys insist the story meant “don’t reveal the results” or that including non-fans, dancers, competitors, and the entire internet should follow your imaginantion spoiler rules. But why is it so hard to consider another possibility? That he was simply exhausted by some otaku who couldn’t respect the boundaries of a competition and wanted ppl to preserve that atmosphere instead?

If Raul truly wanted the results to stay secret, why wouldn’t that have been communicated before the competition? Everyone already knew BUMPY would be competing at HHI. The event was livestreamed worldwide, HHI Japan included Raul on their social post, and the official organizers publicly announced the results, reup video on their Official Youtube. Nothing abt the competition was designed to be hidden.

So what exactly are you trying to stop?

Instead of celebrating their achievement as World HHI medalists, the conversation has been buried under pointless spoiler arguments.

Their victory deserves congratulations and discussions about their performances not unnecessary drama.

Respect Raul. Respect BUMPY. And most importantly, respect the competition and the ppl around them. Keep a positive image of the Snow Man fandom!

私がラウールの「秘密感」という言葉から受け取ったのは、「他のチームの投稿にコメントしに行ったり、過度に騒いだりしないでほしい」ということです。ラウールはアイドルとして特別扱いされるためではなく、一人の出場者、BUMPYのメンバーとして大会に参加していました。だからこそ、「秘密感」とは、アイドルという肩書きをいったん脇に置いて、一人の競技者として静かに応援してほしい、という意味だと私は理解しています。

それなのに、あちこちで削除を求めたり、「結果を投稿しないで」と他の人に言ったりしている人がいます。

そういう行動こそ、ラウールが今後こうした大会に自然な形で参加しにくくなったり、周りの人たちに迷惑をかけたりする原因になると思います。私は、ラウールが本当に望んでいないのは、そういうことだと思います。

Are u even sure that story was telling fans not to share the competition results? Or was it a subtle reminder to the ppl waving his uchiwa at the competition, where he was competing as a dancer who deserved to be treated equally like every other contestant?

Maybe take a look at your own behavior first. Are you treating him like a regular competitor, or are you letting your delusion as an idol fan make you run around telling everyone else what they should and shouldn’t do?

BUMPY - as their name of group. Could’ve treated their height diff as a disadvantage, but instead they turned it into one of their biggest strengths. While most crews naturally have more balanced proportions, they embraced what made them diff and built choreo around it instead of trying to hide it.

They also didn’t play it safe. They went back to the routine they performed at Jp Championships, fixed it, made changes, and elevated it for the world stage. Every adjustment paid off. Every movement felt intentional, every beat was expressed through their bodies.

That’s what makes BUMPY so special. They proved that great dance isn’t abt matching heights or perfect symmetry it’s about trust, creativity, and becoming one as a team.

They deserve to celebrate this medal because it’s their achievement, BUMPY’s achievement. HHI awards medal to each member coz every single one of them earned it.

That medal belongs to Honatsu, Yuina, and Raul. It represents their hard work, trust in one another, willingness to take risks, and unwavering love for dance that brought them to this moment. 🏅

BUMPY is complete coz all three of them found each other. Thank u for choosing this path tgt and for giving us a performance we’ll never forget.

They earned the title of Mini Crew World Championship runners up. Fans, organizers, and dancers around the world are celebrating this incredible achievement. It’s a world championship. A result on the world stage deserves to be celebrated by the world, the moment it’s achieved.

As a intl Raultan, i wanna share my thoughts calmly and respectfully.
First, let me ask a few simple questions.
Is SoreSuno the organizer of HHI? No.
What role did Raul join HHI as? A contestant.
During this competition, Raul is competing as a dancer and a member of BUMPY, not as the main character of a TV show.
Another question is: Are you sure your interpretation of Raul’s Ig story is exactly what he meant?

Raul said(秘密感を大事に).But does that really mean: “Everything about the competition must stay secret.”
Or was he simply asking fans to be thoughtful and not go too far, especially for fans who wanted to wait for the SoreSuno broadcast?
None of us can know his exact intention.
What we do know is this:
HHI had a livestream.
HHI officially published all the results and pictures/ video accepted.

If HHI wanna keep the results secret, they could have done so from the beginning.
If the goal was to avoid all spoilers, then that should have been agreed with the organizers before the competition started.

Once HHI officially released the results, it is not reasonable to expect the entire intl community to act as if the results were still a secret. I completely respect Yuina, Honatsu, and Hitomi-sensei for choosing not to post anything. That was their personal choice. A personal choice should not become a rule for everyone else.

If Jp fans decide to stay silent while intl fans share information that HHI has already made public, that simply shows we understand Raul’s words differently. Neither side has the right to say their interpretation is the only correct one.

As intl fans, we support Raul as a contestant in an international competition, following intl standards. What also makes me sad is seeing people expect those outside the Snow Man fandom to understand words like “秘密感” even though many of them have never followed Raul or even seen his ig’s Story.

Many dancers, coaches, families, and fans from other countries know nothing about this discussion.They only shared information that HHI officially published. Is that really wrong? This competition is not only abt Raul. Every team has trained for months or even years to stand on that stage. During HHI, Raul is one contestant among many talented dancers. If another team posts a photo that includes Raul, it is simply because he is another competitor in the event. Nothing more.

I believe Raul joined this competition coz he wanted to prove himself in a fair environment. If we turn his personal message into a rule for everyone and pressure people outside the fandom, even ppl from the dance community that Raul respects, it could actually create problems for Raul instead of helping him.

In fact, i have already seen ppl becoming frustrated with Raul coz of the behavior of some fans. That is the last thing i want.

If we want Raul to continue exploring dance, fashion, and many other fields, then the behavior of his fans matters too. The competition is only becoming more exciting from here. It is filled with the passion and hard work of dancers from all over the world. I truly hope no fan, even by accident, takes away the spotlight that every team has earned.

Instead of arguing abt spoilers, let’s focus on supporting BUMPY and every contestant. I believe that is what matters most right now.

今回は写真集撮影のロケーションを１つ紹介します。
その地は…
ロンドンです🇬🇧

初めて訪れた際に撮影したのですが、街に時代ごとの文化がそれぞれ反映されている様子が丸ごと受け止めてくれるようで、
これまで訪れた街の中で最も過ごしやすい場所だと思いました。
過ごしやすさのおかげでかなりナチュラルな表情が収められてます😆

撮影中、漂う空気と僕の身体が完全に融合する感覚がありましたし、完成したロンドンパートはページを捲るたびに、目と写真の間にその空気が流れ込んできました。

実際は写真に香りも味も音もありませんが、確かにみなさんの五感を刺激してくれるはずです✨

五感を研ぎ澄ませて待っててね☺️笑

いつも大変お世話になっております。
Snow Manのラウール(本人)です！！

この度、
RAUL 1st PHOTOBOOK "SWAN"
が今からちょうど1年後の2027年6月27日に発売されることになりました！

あまりにも早すぎる発表には理由があり、、、

このプロジェクトは進行し始めてから1年半が経過しており、現在も制作中で年内に撮影終了、来年頭から編集作業等々に入っていく予定です。

写真集にしては壮大すぎるプロジェクトになってしまい、協力してくださっているスタッフの皆さんには感謝しかないです！

それだけ多くの時間と力の結晶を紙で届ける。

そう、紙媒体なんです！！！

正直なことを言うと、Z世代ど真ん中の僕は、
様々な写真をオンラインで楽しんできました。
オンラインでも魅力をフルに受け取れていると思っていました。オンラインでコストのかかった写真をたくさん届けてきました。
この文章もオンラインでお届けしているわけですから、
この文章を受け取る人の中にもそういった経験が多い方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。

それらは僕にとって反省ではなく、発見でした。

僕はこのプロジェクトが開始して以来、
紙で届けるからには自分も紙に触れようと、
あらゆる写真集を受け取ってきました。
同じ写真をオンラインで受け取ったときとの感情の動きを比較したり、紙である理由を自分なりに探求してきました。

また数々のフォトグラファーと会話をしていく中で、紙で届けることに対する情熱と写真を消費する形がめまぐるしく変わっている現状への葛藤を感じました。

紙で育ったと言い切れない僕にとって、
すぐに共感できたかというとそうではありませんが、この1年半の中でその感情が自分の中でも増幅していったことは確かです。

その為、今日このタイミングでその魅力や制作者の意図を熱弁することは烏滸がましいと思っています。

もちろん、いやいや私はとっくに、紙が1番だとわかっていまっせという方がたくさんいることも感じてきました。(これまで僕やグループの紙媒体の作品をたくさん受け取ってきてくれたことにも感謝しています✨)

しかし今回は、壮大なプロジェクトになったこともあり、どうしても価格帯をそれ相応のものにするしかありません。
簡単に受け取ってもらえるなんて当然思っていません。

むしろ、心から欲しいと思えていない状態で、
ラウールちゃんしょうがないわねぇ状態で、
お財布にご負担をおかけしたくないのです。🙏笑

だからこそ1年間かけて伝えていき、
僕がそうだったように、紙に対する価値観や制作者の熱量にゆっくりと共感していただく期間にしたいです！！！

毎月27日に、このプロジェクトの新たな情報解禁や制作過程などを伝えていくつもりです！
