@Superqami@Lewchube Definitely a longer response than anyone asked for but as someone from a neglected northern town I felt pretty well represented by the game and really enjoyed the dynamics it showed. 6/6
@Superqami@Lewchube Marnie has a big mantle to take up and yes I would argue that the responsibility shouldn’t be placed on her shoulders, but that’s what happens in poverty, kids end up taking up more responsibility than they should. 5/
If you plan on voting for Jill Stein or Trump because of the war in the Middle East, please watch and reconsider. It’s just 6 minutes and it’s worth the watch.
@ptadamczyk hi! my masters thesis is on Cyberpunk 2077 and I’m working on a brief analysis of some tracks from the score. Does the track that plays when V wakes up in the oil fields have a name? Was there any specific inspiration behind the piece?
@abandoned_pain I feel this so hard, I use opioids (that I’m prescribed) for my chronic pain, theyre the only thing that has given me some semblance of functionality and a life, but all anyone has to say is how I shouldn’t be taking them rather than asking if they help improve my life
Whatever your views on monarchy, arrest of anti-royalist campaigners for exercising right to peaceful protest is chilling. Many of us warned about exactly this when govt rushed thro the illiberal public order bill. This is not what democracy looks like https://t.co/TWndQW6Whr
If the suit still fits… This year, we’re bringing Jonathan Demme’s groundbreaking 1984 Talking Heads concert film STOP MAKING SENSE (newly remastered in 4K!) back to theaters worldwide. #StopMakingSense2023
The dehumanising actions of TERFs, far-right bigots and those who turn a blind eye are directly responsible for the climate of violence that sees incredible, beautiful trans children murdered. You did this.
Rest in peace Brianna Ghey.
She deserved so much better from us.
The Gender Recognition Reform Bill has passed the Scottish Parliament by 86 to 39.
This is a piece of legislation which will make the lives of trans people - one of the most marginalised minorities in society - a little bit easier.
Bravo to the 86.
When the Tories talk today of “sacrifices”, remember this: a dad worrying he won’t be able to afford his little girl’s ventilator.
More than a third of families with disabled children are being forced to cut back on life-saving electrical equipment, @contactfamilies report.
Autumn Statement: Some 600,000 people on universal credit will effectively be forced to work - a form of conscription on its way.
How fit are these people? What skills they have? Are they carers? What happens to the ones they care for?
This will turn nasty.
Benefits to rise with inflation.
Good. But the £600 it will give those on Universal Credit doesn't make up for the £1040 the Tories took away when they cut £20 a week Covid uplift & value of unemployment benefits to average wages has been in decline for decades #AutumnStatement
8/8 Kids shouldn’t have to Tiny Tim their way onto the telly and disclose their personal medical details in order to get their needs met. There’s got to be a better way?
1/8 It’s Children in Need season. I always feel like an absolute grinch critiquing it because it’s so beloved and obviously raises much needed cash. But my ick outweighs my discomfort at being impolite so here we go (a thread)
