CHRISTMAS IN WALES: A THREAD 🎄🏴
"One of the most curious customs which was once in vogue about Christmastime was the procession known as Mari Lwyd, a man wearing the skeleton of a horse’s head decked with ribbons and rosettes."

@ireadya@mstiefvater The opening line is classic (and I enjoy feeling like a cult member as we all chant it on Nov. 1) however I legitimately get full body chills at, “He is slow, and the sea sings to us both, but he returns to me.” 💙 -N
You are never too old for YA books, putting interestingly shaped rocks in your pocket, or shapeshifting into a tree part time to escape people you don't like.
The each-uisge, a supernatural water-horse found in the sea and lochs. It is a shape-shifter disguising itself as a fine horse or handsome man. It retains hooves when appearing human, leading to its association in folklore with the devil.

@bndpod Thank you so much for the shout-out! I'm grabbing some of your episodes now--looks like we have similar tastes, and I'm excited to add the books I haven't read to my TBR. 💙 -N
@stockinskye @wrpmeupinplastc Without being spoilery, the Opal short story generally covers the time before and after the TRK epilogue, if you've had the chance to read that. ☺ -N
If it could ever be said that I've created a piece of fan art for The Raven Boys, it would be this: an (as accurate as I could make it) TRB Timeline. 💙 -N
#ravenreread#ravenboys
(Don't ask me how I calculated Mrs. Gansey's birthday. It must be in there somewhere.)
@stockinskye @wrpmeupinplastc In my experience, school usually ended somewhere around June 15th and started back up around Sept. 1st. There's some fluctuation, but most schools in the USA would definitely be out by 4th of July!
@stockinskye @wrpmeupinplastc (2/2) Then we have a time skip to the TRK epilogue taking place in June of the following year, when they are graduating. 💙 -N
@stockinskye @wrpmeupinplastc I tend to do the timelines as we're rereading the books for a season, so I don't have BLLB or TRK written down yet. HOWEVER! TRB is in the spring of one year, TDT is in the summer of that same year, BLLB is in the early fall, and TRK is in late Oct/early Nov. (1/2)
Not gonna lie, I got genuine full-body chills hearing Maggie's music and Will Patton's voice as I listen while laying in the dark...
For those who are reading Mister Impossible, we're super stoked to talk about it soon! 💙 -N
@thisgirlash_@ireadya Yes! I got this question wrong, and considering the epic amount of time I spent searching for the perfect ravens/cave sounds to layer I'm preeeeeety sure I'd lean towards ravens. 💙 -N
how would you describe Adam Parrish, wrong answers only
(psst, don't forget to pre-order Mister Impossible by @mstiefvater before 5/18! ➡️ https://t.co/L39l5Fow7n)
