La secuencia en la cueva del Cíclope es muy buena hablando de cine, pero desperdiciada.
Porque las conversaciones entre Polifemo y Odiseo son de lo más interesante del libro. En la película no hablan.
Si Odiseo sobrevive a esa prueba es porque en todo momento le dice que su nombre es Nadie y de esa forma Polifemo no puede vencerlo, porque está despojado de toda identificación, vanidad, ego.
Es hasta que el héroe, ya libre, le revela su nombre, soy Odiseo, cuando comienza la verdadera maldición y castigo de Poseidón, porque ya puede ser identificado.
Odiseo cae en la vanidad, en búsqueda de gloria, en que se sepa quién venció al Cíclope cuando antes era Nadie.
Y para mí ese es la vuelta te tuerca de la Odisea. Y en la película, nada de esto, pero nada…
