@ASHL00 Thought it was revolutionary in 2011 as a 10 year old. I still remember watching it at home and my mom stared at it for 5 minutes trying to figure out if it was animated or not.
4 stars means I liked it a lot
5 stars is the same as 4 but it caters to me in a specific way. Everything else is vibes. I should be hired as a film critic
@DA_WooGo I think Last Jedi is when people really started to dislike the sequel trilogy. The only one of those films I dislike is Rise of Skywalker, and even then I enjoy a majority of it. The TFA release period is when the people who didn't like it because of bigotry weren't platformed.
my feeling is that there are two types of movies that should exist
- microbudget indie whatever the fuck with an auteur director
- massive budget blockbuster from a prestige director who is a household name because of their body of work
@lucam8a I’m thinking that it doesn’t win anything major, Director, Screenplay, or a Top 3, but they give it a special citation like they did Resurrection last year. Maybe the jury is gonna respect its ambition but not know how to reward it.
@MaxFromQuebec The Un Certain Regard section has the best reviews so far. Camp Miasma and Club Kid went over well. Crossing my fingers for Fjord I suppose. Queen of 2020’s Cannes, Renate Reinsve, to the rescue (maybe).
i wrote my 218 pages masters thesis, researched and read every niche article i needed, translated ancient chinese history records with the help of my own little brain, through tears and sweat and i think that gives me a pass to be judgey towards those who use AI. yall are losers
@Rohanjirale My theory that there will be a villain that’s not Two-Face to help build Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent’s relationship to make Dent’s fall into Two-Face more tragic in Part III. Idk, just my theory.
