Today, the Lovejoy Historical Society started the tradition of visiting the gravesite of Carrie L. Lovejoy on the first Monday after Lovejoy ISD’s graduation ceremony. A graduation ceremony program was laid by her tombstone.

What a great way to end the year with a staff picnic in the courtyard of LHS! Staff service awards, music, door prizes, burgers, popsicles, games, and a tug a war competition between campuses!
@katiekordel we need to have that slip-n-slide for next year. ;)

Happy Retirement to my friend, @jeffhiggins535 ! We went to high school together, and I started teaching with him and @luanplayergreen at Curtis Middle School back in the 90’s. It’s been a long strange trip. #DreamTeam
To understand the history of Lovejoy ISD, it helps to be familiar with the history of the Allen/Lucas/Fairview/McKinney area. Today we turn to a book that was published in 2011 by former Town Manager, John Godwin, along with artist, and parent of Lovejoy graduates, Karen Karnuta.
@LojoHistSociety This is such a great book, but hard to find! I'm waiting to hear from the Town of Fairview Admin regarding where people can purchase it.
The next time you walk into LHS's Main Foyer, make sure you look up to the left and right and you will see the LHS Tapestries. Each tapestry corresponds to the parts of the LHS crest.

Carol Sutton, Lovejoy Royalty,
stopped by LHS today to sit for an interview for the upcoming History of Lovejoy video.
She was my 6th grade ELAR Teacher in 1981-82 at Lovejoy Elementary. A funny & wise woman who impacted many students over the decades.

LOJO School Board Trustee and Former LOJO Student Chad Collins has selflessly given 12 of service to Lovejoy ISD during some fairly rocky times. Thanks to Chad, and others like him, the Spirit of Lovejoy will live on for years to come!
